Renntech.org has instructions for installing 997.1 and 997.2 PSE. They are listed in the DIY section under TSB (Technical Service Bulletins). You will need to make a donation to become a paying member in order to access the TSBs.

My service guy is doing everything I was just interested as to his quote of 4 hours and wanted to see what was involved. Of course to me it looks time consuming but to someone who works on these every day I am sure it is like cooking a nice Kobe steak without destroying it.

Mine was 8+ hours for my 997.2 coupe...however my dealer only charged me for 4hrs since they had originally quoted that and charged me for 4hrs on the bill of sale (which was what the previous model was for an install). Stand up guys!

If you are installing it yourself, suggest you consider the manual remote control from Carnewal - http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p97084.htm.
If you do a full OEM install, you operate the PSE with the sport switch, which has other implications, and you then are stuck with the PSE shutting off between certain miles per hour (something like 20-50mph, but that's a rough number). That's for EU noise restriction purposes. With the Carnewal solution, you can control PSE on or off at will. And its cheaper than running the wires forward from the engine compartment and fully hooking them into the car's computer, and programming it.

Hi, my PSE was working perfectly until when I took my car to the dealer to have spark plugs replaced.
I guess that they did not reconnect the pipes to the valve when they fit again all the stuff.
Could any of you advice me where I could find the pipe end next to the exhast just to check the status before going ro the dealer and shout at them?

Just to give an update.
Valves got fixed by themselves the day before going to the dealer.
From that moment they always worked properly.
Meanwhile I installed the remote control to open/close the PSE.

it's easy to hardwire an on/off switch to solenoid from fuse box, but, you can't use the dash switch alone to bypass the DME control.
have done it on both my 06S and 09S

I have a 997.2 with Sport Chrono Plus and am thinking of putting in the PSE thro dealer. have 2 questions, since I am not clear about how PSE works.
1. I understand that the PSE is automatically switched on by pressing the Sport button, but can the PSE be switched on directly with the PSE button, ie without pressing the Sport button.
2. I read that it only works between certain speeds ?, between what speeds ?.
