I'm Looking to buy my first Turbo Air Cooled Porsche
I’m looking to buy my first Air Cooled Porsche, something very nice, slant nose or turbo, low mileage, years 1986 to 1998, original paint preferred. Can anyone help me find one or lead me in the right direction?

Air cooled cars are cool, but very expensive to maintain, own and repair. 1986-98 is quite the range in models(3) and performance. An original 505/6 930 slant commands a pretty penny and is almost un drivable bc it's irreplaceable, something to keep in mind.
It's not a question of 'if' a air cooled car needs a rebuild, but 'when', they all need it based on age and miles alone IMO. A rebuild on a typical 3.3 930 can easily exceed 25k. The parts are getting harder to find and very expensive.
Price wise, a good 930 slant can push 200k, additionally 964 and 993tt prices have escalated massively as well (over 100k). Air cooled turbos are cool, nostalgic, and slow by today's standards. The AC and heaters suck and heat soak is a huge issue on the single turbo cars. If it's your first Porsche and you want a car you can drive a lot, I'd consider a 996/7. Not to be a killjoy, but I've had a few and its best to go in with your eyes wide open.
Good hunting! Check out top gear, Sloan, victory, canepa and abreau motors, they typically have nice cars.

Forget air cooled Turbos.
The air cooled Porsche everyone wants, even if they do not realize it yet, is an 87-89 Carrera 3.2. Buy a solid one, drop in a new clutch, install a cat bypass pipe, upgrade the AC system and you have joy on 4 wheels.
Small electronic relay bits will go wrong from time to time but overall these are fantastic cars. Way better to drive than the early 911s and way more reliable than newer air cooled models.

Prices are down about 15% right now on AC turbos, look for continued price correction, but the days of finding a 20k 79 turbo are gone forever. The 930s were grossly undervalued for years (like the 996tt), now over inflated and self correcting imo.
