I just finished my first week with the Turbo. All I can say is holy &h^T!! This car should come with a lawyer on retainer and bail money.
I really had to learn the meaning of self restraint; and learn it fast. I had done some on ramp accelerations over the last week and I knew the car was fast, but I never put the pedal to the floor until this past weekend. There's a lot more action in that last 1" of pedal travel.
Actually this weekend, it was mid 50's so I spent about 5 hours driving 3 generations of 911's back to back to back. 05 TT first, followed by my 993 C4S and last the SC. It's amazing how similar the three generations are in feel despite the horsepower difference.

Spectacular looking car! Seal gray is my favorite for Porches, and the brown interior looks classy.
I totally understand the desire for a lawyer on retainer. One thing that helps me to exercise restraint is to look at some of the horrifying videos of people crashing their expensive sports cars. They crop up with some regularity on Jalopnik.com. It's way too easy to become seduced by the unholy power of a twin turbo Porsche. Keep your head screwed on while you drive!

Thanks and will do. Having kids around depending on you to be here does wonders to change driving habits. Things happen when driving, but it won't be because I push a turbo to it's limits or me to mine.

Busy two weeks
I spent part of this week completely detailing the car inside and out. Applied sealant and wax and even cleaned the engine.
I decided even with only 24k+ miles on the car to get my 30k mile major service, primarily because I wasn't overly enthused with the knowledge I got from the available maintenance records and I did notice a miss/hesitation at a constant 65mph or so. I also found I have the 9670-645 engine which I understand has the 483 HP tune.
The service was very thorough. Coils good, MAF good so I left them. The plugs were fouled and it appears to be from stale gas. I know the car set for a couple years and was not driven much. Anyway, as part of this service, the plugs got changed and not surprisingly, the miss is gone. The rpm's don't bounce nearly as much either at idle. All belts and hoses are still good. As I knew, the clutch accumulator was shot so it was replaced. What a difference. Now I know how it is supposed to feel. I did not have slave cylinder replaced.
Also had the brake fluid flushed and checked the coolant. It's good to -30 degrees. After I found out about the stale gas, I ordered another fuel filter which should be in tomorrow. These brand new all season tires that came on the car now keep breaking loose after the tune up. Seems the TT is at the top of its game right now. I'll change the tires to summer type at the first opportunity.
Anyway, with a good maintenance base now established, I decided to put the TT up and drive the 993 for a while. Now here's the surprise. When I got the car on the lift, I noticed that what I thought were OEM Porsche staggered exhaust tips have Eisenmann on the bottom. This car has never sounded quiet to me and I've wondered why people said the stock muffler was quiet. Maybe all along I've had an aftermarket and didn't know it. I don't see any information on the mufflers themselves. Is there a way to tell if this car has the Eisenmann exhaust or just the Eisenmann tips?
edit: I went back with a flashlight and double checked. I found a 996 number on the exhaust and the name Boysen Germany. I assume this must be stock and my understanding now is that the Eisenmann tips came on the 05 TTS as well.

that car looks great, at the risk of repeating myself. i'm surprised you didn't do coils while in there, but i can't imagine that they were bad, given their relative low mileage. the car will never reject or fail to show its appreciation for fresh plugs though. i change mine about every 6k miles. again, congrats and nice job. that thing looks new.

what sort of engine difference might that be? i've only ever known of ( or had ) a stock car and and one with the x50 package. the stock porsche numbers are 414hp stock and 444 for the cars with the x50 package which as you know is k24's a tune/remap and the gt2 intercoolers. all else is same.
