Manthey wheels

I think this is the same wheel. I took picture at Rennsport Reunion, wheels were on Cup cars. I was told this was a BBS for Cup cars used in "Grand Am" racing. I wonder if it is available directly from BBS without the special Manthey stuff. Probably cheaper and to me less corny looking.

Those wheels look the same, but the ones in my shot have "Manthey Motors" embossed in the rim.
Metalsolid, ask and ye shall receive. Email me if you want a high res version.

Manthey Motors Wheels:
F: 18" x 9" ET45 under 15 lbs vs almost 25lbs stock
R: 18" x 11" ET59 17 lbs vs. 27+ lbs stock
1 piece magnesium, not compatible with Porsche wheel caps.
6800 euros + shipping . They won't ship them without insurance, and you have to pay import taxes based on insured price. Final price is close to 10 grands. Manthey Motors is waiting for a November shipment, because they don't have them on stock and the won't sell the used ones they have available.
Called BBS Japan (1 piece magnesium wheel manufacturers) and they refer me to BBS USA. BBS USA price for the same wheels: $8000. Wheels are in a huge back order, all the GrandAm, Speed GT teams are waiting for them.
I talked to a chief mechanic of one of the Speed GT Porsche Teams (they run two blue Cup cars) 2 weeks ago at Pocono. They had 3 sets of those wheels. I asked them if they would sell me one set, and he told that they actually need 2 more sets.
I got an offer from Koro (German tuner) for an used set at 3600 euros, and I passed on them. I contacted them 2 weeks after, and obviously they sold them.
At this time I'm tired of looking for these wheels, the race season is practically over.

You can always see their website for yourself (German): http://www.manthey-motors.de
Here is the link to a PDF (German): http://members.rennlist.com/graham_mitchell/MM2.pdf
Weight: 7.2kg front wheels, 7.8kg rear
Sizes: 9x18 ET 45, 11x18 ET 59.5
The price is indicated as 7.228,00 EUR for the set.
If they don't ship to the US, then I would be glad to act as intermediary.

I visited Manthey earlier this year and spoke to them about the wheels. The Manthey wheels have extras processes and coatings that the race wheels don't have to make the paint more durable on the street. This was necessary to pass the TuV tests such as salt bath immersion. The race car teams are obviously not so concerned about how long the paint lasts, nor face driving on salted roads.
They are amazing to hold, as they are so light.
