What is supposed to be there is a little booklet, with fuse placement information in several languages. It is quite small print and would likely not scan very well. There are also supposed to be several replacement fuses there as well.

Which fuse are you intending to replace?

I was wrong about the scan. Here is the fuse layout.

Row A is the top row, E is the bottom one. The fuse positions are marked on the housing, with #1 on the left end.

The fuse I changed recently was for the cigarette lighter socket, which is D5. 4th row from the top, and fifth socket from the left.

Good luck!

Very helpful. Thanks

The very same fuse I'm looking for by the way.

You're welcome.

It seems the cigarette light socket fuse is susceptible to blowing not only in Porsches. I also just replaced this same one in my 2006 Subaru Legacy.

Do you know if the same diagram applies to the 997? - (or do you have one for the 997?)

Thanks

I once had a girlfriend that was prone to doing that too, but that's another story!

Sorry...... back on topic.

dcottam,
I don't think the 996 are the same from 3.4 to 3.6 ltr.

Funny about the D5 fuse. I blew one this weekend. Driving cross country, I had the GPS and Radar detector plugged in to a multi-outlet aftermarket. Luckily, the little booklet was right where it was supposed to be!

Does anyone have a fuse layout for '06 997.1? My outlet under the footwell of the passenger side and the outlet in the center console isnt working. Trying to find out which fuse handles that.

Thanks in advance

From the above diagram - B3
Given that you have a 99 C2
You can also disconnect the ground (brown) wire to the horns
