What a great group of guys, thanks for coming. We had the place to ourselves today and ran the track in both directions many times. We pushed the boundaries of "touring laps" on a few occasions and I think a good time was had by all.
I'll add a few more photos one at a time.
First, this is the way it looks at this of year at sunrise in New England . Deep, deep shadows and brilliant peaks. I'm sure there is some kind of camera lens to compensate, but the shared night and day is dramatic.

What a day. Great weather, fun people and the track is awesome. The pictures don't do the track or the scenery justice.
I am still kicking myself for showing up at 11:30AM instead of 9AM - I missed out on 2 extra hours. Hopefully this is just the first annual aircooled event at Palmer. Definitely worth the 3 hour drive from NYC.
Nice lineup on Oct 12, 2016

I second all comments and grattitude to Al for setting this up. Both low-key and exhilrating at the same time! Richard- it was a great idea to run the course backwards.

Looks like a lot of fun gents, just looking at the elevation it appears to be a great track too!
How costly is that to have the whole track to yourselves?

Hello Knight,
The founder of RL is local to us and not only a great guy but knows the track owner, so when I suggested having an unofficial RL gathering, he graciously offered it to us at zero cost.
Fly out next year, I'll arrange for something for you to drive . . .
Regards,
Al

I think all who were able to make it had a great time. And for those of you who couldn't make it, maybe next year.
Here is a video that was filmed there this past summer.
Put it on your reminder list for next year!
