Who has 100k and NO top end rebuild??
I'd like to hear from owners of 100,000 mile cars that have NOT had a top end rebuild. How much oil are you using and has there been any performance drop-off that you have noticed? I'd like to think that Porsche made engines to last 100k miles without major work being required. I know many have done the rebuild as a 'preventative' measure which is fine but I'm looking to hear from those that are still running strong without one. Thanks in advance.

145K and NO rebuild. I add a quart for every 2500-3000 miles.
Still very strong and I see no reason to do a rebuild just because the miles are high.
Best of Luck all.

106K and maybe a quart of oil between oil changes. Just had the car for a year and a half with no noticeable dropoff. Will try a dyno pull here soon just to get a baseline and let you know the results then.

These posts are very encouraging! Too many 'doom and gloom' stories in the past where it sounds like MOST of these cars need the top end rebuilt. Obviously from the results shown so far (in just a few hours) this is not the case. New owners or potentially new owners can be scared to death. This helps and will only encourage future sales which helps everyone. Thanks to all. Keep 'em coming.
