Default OE Oil Filters On-Line

I have done annual oil changes myself, after having the first one done at the local Porsche dealer. But I have bought the oil filter, gasket, and crush ring from them. I think last year was between $40 and $45, which just seems crazy. Is there a good source for the same filters online? I am a bit confused about OE Mahle filters vs. OEM. FWIW, my car is a CPO 2012 991 Cab and is under warrantee until 11/18, so I don't want to mess with that.

If it's anywhere close, I will be happy to give the local dealer the parts business. But $45 seems excessive. Ideas?

Greetings. There are some places online such as Pelican Parts that offer cheaper prices on Porsche OEM filters and also sell Mahle filters who are the OE supplier to Porsche (Porsche does not manufacture filters). Anything that carries the Porsche stamp are expensive. That said, all that you want to know about Porsche filters (and some crap you don't) are offered up here. Good luck.

ECStuning.com ($15) or Pelicanparts.com ($16) or FCPEuro.com ($11)

Buy a few of them to make the shipping worth it.

Suncoast has "kits" which include the crasher washer for the oil drain plug and the gasket for the filter cap..

OK, read the thread. LOL

I have always used Mahle oil filters for BMW oil changes and Porsche oil changes. I guess I will continue to do so and not worry whether it also says "Porsche" somewhere on the label.

We have a really great basic maintenance section on our site that may be useful to you: http://www.pelicanparts.com/Porsche/...aintenance.htm. You can order a bunch of items and bring your total to $79 for free shipping. Mahle is an OEM supplier filter so it will be a sufficient replacement. If you have any questions please let me know as I am here to help.

The Pelican web site is very comprehensive, but you don't list anything for the 991.2. When do you anticipate having parts for the latest cars?

Our catalog team is hoping to have our newer model updates ready sometime in the next few months. Typically, we run a little behind on newer models due to our parts suppliers databases. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to let me know.

Good news--I have ordered plenty from Pelican Parts in the past (and greatly appreciate the tech info you guys provide). But seeing 2015 as the most recent year option on the parts home page has been discouraging.

I have a 2016 and research part numbers (i.e. brake pads, rotors, etc.) prior to ordering from Pelican. There are many sites to obtain part reference numbers.

I'll be sure to pass this along to our catalog folks and see if I can get a timeline of when our catalog will reflect the newer year 991's. We do appreciate your input and please don't hesitate to shoot me a PM if you ever need anything that you cannot find in our catalog.
