I imagine the weight savings is mostly the seat belts.

I suspect 20 lbs is without adding back the replacement to the seat bottom, the seat belt anchor point cover, and the hinge and "post" covers (alternately, replacement plastic piece below side windows for the last). I would be happy with a net savings of 10 lbs

Out of curiosity, what is the weight savings with sunroof delete and 4 way seats?

I was told the glass sunroof adds about 130 lbs, but only about 30 for the metal. Four way Sport seat plus is about 25 lbs lighter than the 18 way. Hearsay from a salesman, anyone have the facts?

I stopped by Techart Friday. I was looking at the Aerokit I. Very nice construction, but it felt heavy; seems it would be adding weight in the worst possible place!

Sorry, I just meant that if the car is already sunroof delete and 4 way sports seats, like mine, neither can become lighter.

There is no way that the glass sunroof weighs 100 lbs more than the metal one!

Like I mentioned, not a fact. Check on the shipping weight of that laminated chunk of automotive glass!

Here is a recent correspondence from Suncoast:
Here is the list of parts we feel would delete the rear seats:

1 991-551-055-80-RAO AS COVERING 1 $529.20 GT3 Logo in platinum grey
2 991-551-017-81-A75 AS CARPETING 1 $380.86
3 991-551-247-81-5Q0 AS PARCEL SHE 1 $42.32
4 991-555-565-01-1E0 HIDER 1 $27.33
5 991-555-566-01-1E0 HIDER 1 $27.33

Total: $1007.04

Again the GTS catalog does not list the same rear tunnel portion for a car without rear seats. We tried the ROW catalog and the US, everything had a rear seat option code on it. The GT3 catalog lists one, but it will not have the GTS writing on it.

Great work! Fishing around with the part you provided, I see there are "RAO" and "RAP" versions. The difference is not shown though.

There is a guy on the 997 forum with a GT3 set for sale, I think his last was $550. Trying to think how to remove the GT3.

How's this for bizarre. Anyone here ever heard of the optional full size spare? These photos are from outside the US where a spare is a necessity due to very poor road conditions. You can see it through the rear glass.
