Basically for LED's you are paying a lot of money with very little gain and I think a worse visual look. Save your money. Get leather wrapped sun visors and steering wheel column instead, you will actually notice these.... :-)
+1 for US spec cars. It is difficult, if not impossible, to see any discernable difference between Xenons and LEDs. I think most people buy the LEDs here for the cool factor, which is fine. But to my eye, the Xenons look great if you're not comparing them head-on with the LEDs. They're just not worth the extra coin for me.

Just for curiosity sake. With the LED on the 991.1, you say the DRL are the 4 dots.
So what is visible on the bumper where the DRL strip is for the non-LED cars?

We still have that strip. It only illuminates when you have your running lights on, and LED headlights off.

I guess the DRLs are subjective, but I love the look of the 4 point DRLs versus the strip. Does the Halo light up as a ring also?

In some lighting conditions.

+1

I got LEDs in black on my TT really just for the cool halo effect when I have the daytime running lights on. They are pricey but man do they look good.

What's worse (at least in NY/CT) are all those aftermarket xenons in non HID projectors. The glare is just horrific, I wish those laws were somewhat enforced.

I've been running Xenons since available. They don't last forever. May not matter to most P-Car owners, but 50k miles is pushing it. The mechanics to swivel and shutter high beams do fail. I think they weigh more with the large transformer and finally, they use more current which means more gas.

Save the planet and buy the way cool LEDs. (Full disclosure, I went for LEDs in black)

Like you, I was on the fence, went back and forth about which option looked better, is it worth the extra $$$, etc. In the end, I am very happy with the decision to get the LED in black.

Are the Porsche LED's the same as the BMW M4 led's? I drove one of those and the LED's were just awesome.

prefer the look of the Bi-Xenon's. Appear more in tune with the car's styling.02 T
