What are you talking about? The car doesn't blip it for me. I have to time the brake, clutch, and gas pedal myself. I don't have the giant clock on the dash so no auto blip. If I don't rev the throttle myself it will mess up and lurch the car.

What model 991 do you have? Have you ever driven a manual 991 on twisty mountain roads?

Sorry maxpowers

But Chuck911 is quite correct. In Sport plus, the C2S and GTS blip upon downshift. My heel and toe stay undisturbed.

Not if your car doesn't have SC option, and maxpowers says his doesn't, not no auto blip for him.

To each, his own. I live in NC and have driven the mountain roads around and on the BR Parkway many times. I have been driving 911's off and on, mostly on, since 1985. All of mine have been manuals until my current 991 GTS with PDK. The driving experience in all of mine has been great. I will say that driving those roads in my PDK in manual mode is every bit as satisfying, probably more so, then driving the manuals.

They are both great transmissions.

Now see? We can all be happy. I will stick with the MT until my fingers are too a arthritic to use the PDK paddles efficiently!

I know it's exhausted this MT vs PDK thing. But I love the banter with each new post. There's never a conclusion, just lots of funny low blows.
But we all know secretly the manual is king

If someone with a 7SM, SC equip car wants to practice there heel toe. Just leave it in Sport mode. There by eliminating the automatic blip feature.

Just a reminder - on the 7mt if you don't want rev matching simply disable PSM.

Exactly. With the MT if you have SC you can either use it or not, plus you can use the clutch and put the gearshift in the exact gear you want. No flapping away at paddles. I don't have SC so I blip the throttle myself when downshifting, which I find really enjoyable. For me when driving other cars using the paddles just makes me want to drive a manual, so I end up putting it in auto and play with the radio since the driving experience isn't as enjoyable. To each his own though and I'm glad to have options for the transmission so you can get the experience you want.

Cool my c4s also blips the throttle in sport plus

I had a 2010 Ferrari California with a double clutch transmission engineered by Porsche. It was as fast as the wind but not nearly as engaging as a 7mt.
I was happy to get back into a Porsche with a manual transmission. To me it's about fun not speed! I found the double clutch transmission could shift itself nearly as well as me with the paddles!

Wow. Porsche helped Ferrari out? Is it me or is that crazy?

Default Porsche developed the double clutch transmission

Porsche then sold the technology to numerous car companies, including Ferrari.

Porsche, at least until recently, earned more money from selling their engineering expertise to other car companies than they do selling their own cars. I'll bet this is still the case.

That's right. And not just cars. Harleys only stopped dripping pools of oil when Porsche redesigned their engines and production process.

And Porsches don't leak oil? That is the funniest thing I ever heard. Every p car I have ever owned was somehow tied into the gulf coast disaster. I"ll give the 991 GTS about 4 maybe 5 years tops.

I think you have been unlucky Jimbo. This is my ninth Porsche since 1976. I don't believe I have ever had an oil leak in any of them.
