Custom Ordering a 991, 'Porsche Exclusive' and You!

Houndstooth looks nice with Red piping...Matt Henry told me back in May 2015 that piping was being worked on to be introduced as a CXX option. I would have done that as I had it on my 1989 Turbo Cab....., but I did not want to wait (which turned out to be a good move as I would not have been able to get a GTS N/A engine).......So many choices...not ONE is BAD!!!!!!!!

From the early days of this thread, you can read
that I was wondering what 'look & feel' could be
achieved by ordering 'natural leather' in 'Black'
rather than the standard Porsche 'noir' leather.
I raised the point with Melissa Witek several years
ago (when Sascha was still around) & she told me
that, although available via LTS, it had never been
yet requested by a US customer. So you Keith are
our 'guinea pig' for it! You are going to go where
few have dared to venture. And, who knows, it
might be so superior to standard 'Black' Porsche
leather that it's worth every penny of your high
dollar investment!
I have recently been looking closely at the possibility
of ordering a 718. And the look & feel of the new
'Bordeaux Red' standard leather you now find in that
model doesn't seem to match the richness & sheen of
the 'Espresso' and/or 'Espresso & Cognac' offered as
a higher cost premium 'Natural' leather in that model.
And that is the same difference for the standard 'Black'
leather, especially when you see it on the regular Sport
Seats & not the more 'taut' tailoring of the 'Sport Seat Plus'.
Too bad that you have decided not to augment the
'difference' in going with the 'Natural' leather in 'Black'
with the additional pop you would get with deviating
stitching. That would really be the ultimate combo in
a 'Natural' interior in 'Black'. It is shameful that PAG
has not yet seen fit to provide yet a proper deviating
stitching in 'green'. I have been pushing them on this
color stitching (plus bright 'Blue', which was only offered
briefly in MY2013) since the 991 was introduced years
ago! We last saw a 'green' deviating stitching from PAG
on the .997 .1 gt3 RS models:
That would have been perfect for a 'Viper' exterior color
on your Targa! And I know for a fact that the Germans
make an acceptable 'green' deviating thread that can be
used effectively in the interior panels of an automobile.
When I visited 'Audi Exclusive' in Neckarsulm a few years
ago, I took this photo of the 'green' thread used by Audi
on customers requests for deviating stitching in that color!
In fact, Audi offers '2D8' Porsche 'Green' as an exterior
PTS color on their customization program, along with
the 'green' deviating stitching!
So it's just a shame that PAG has not been more diligent
in getting us these needed hues of deviating stitching into
their 'Porsche Exclusive' program!

My 991.2 C2S birch green w/ acid green stitching and seat piping (CXX). Worked w/ Melissa on this prior to her departure.

No other "green" stitching available. I just can't have any. It looks like they are willing to paint the center console trim Viper. That's something.

Quite frankly, Keith, it is indeed pretty damn bold!

I was told Tuesday "within 72 hours", but they must be Euro based hours since I haven't heard anything yet.

is one of my favorite historic/vintage colors from the
MY1974 911 era!
Please tell us the cost of adding the 'acid green'
piping. That looks terrific too...and very unusual
in a modern 991. We first saw it some months
back when PAG allowed it to be used on a 991
gt3 RS!

Looks great. Not such a great match with Viper.
When I complained that Acid Green stitching
was too yellow, they at first suggested Racing
Yellow instead. That was a bit of a puzzler to
both me and SA. I offered to use Acid Green
if they would paint my calipers Acid Green.
Non starter of course. Rules. No other "green"
stitching available. I just can't have any.

Yellow' deviated stitching to you. Indeed that
color has quite a bit of green tint to it. And it
has been used successfully in 'near-green' paint
schemes before...like JUPJAI's fabulous 'Birch
Green' 911 Turbo S cabriolet:

the rear grill slats to match the exterior
paint. They look just right (especially in
a bright 'Viper Green' 991) in 'Gloss Black'.
Have the Porsche on the back painted
equally 'Black' like David's.
My dos centavos, for what it's worth.

Still thinking on the slats and they haven't even decided if it can be done yet. I'm OK with skipping it.
But thanks!

You should contact Porsche Exclusive directly. I emailed Atlanta yesterday (with a confirmed order # for my PTS build in February) and received a response in less than an hour.
Floating around here on Rennlist somewhere (I don't have the link handy) is an approved LTS list (colors already approved that wouldn't require a feasibility study). I'm in the process of trying to order LTS in black natural leather.

Thanks Eduardo, good to finally have a PTS accepted. Here is a photo of the CXX piping and headrest embroidery in acid green. The seats and the price are both stunning @ $7365, but that's CXX.

Has anyone heard of the Porsche 'Fast Track' program by Exclusive?
Sitting in my Dealers waiting area while my winter wheel/tire set was being installed yesterday, customer came in early (8:30am) and asked the Service Manager where his new Turbo S was that was air freighted to Chicago?
I thought, that's odd, where did he buy the car and why air freight?
On the Facebook page this morning were pictures of the car (Carmine Red) and build listing.
Ordered in October.
I wonder if they can do PTS and LTS?
Any upcharge by Porsche?
Nice color anyway.
Customer looked happy and anxious to see his car!-Richard
