I am, however, a little intrigue by 'La Martina' from Argentina (Lando Simonetti)! But Lando, like Ralph, is a relative newcomer to these garments, having started that business only in 1985! But Argentina = Polo in this time & age. Polo has nothing to do with Ralph Rueben Lif****z' native South Bronx!

Thank you for the kind post!
You were not the only one 'collecting' these sartorial alligators. In my days in high school (1964-1968) and college (1968-1972), Izod marketed these French polos in the US, but we never referred them as 'Izod'...mon Dieu! They were 'Lacoste'...and we always coveted the ones actually made in France!
As I wore mine down to 'threadbare' over the years of use, I really hated to throw out my Lacostes! Finally, with great sadness, I would ceremoniously cut the 'Alligator' off and throw then in the top drawer of my dresser...
...next to my antique English leather box with my collection of Paul Stuart silk knot cuff links! I must have had 50 pairs of those!
I still have them around (the alligators & the cuff links) in some old suitcase in storage! A reminder of my once 'colorful' youth!
