Gaining interest in Sport bucket seats

Availability of the OEM 991 GT3 LWB will begin by Summer of 2015.
Porsche dealers in the US should all have availability by this summer for the OEM 991 GT3 LWB.
No idea on pricing, Mike, but I would contact your local Porsche parts dealers and ask to be contacted once they become available from PAG.
Otherwise, Jesse South at Sunset Porsche [email: jessesouth@sunsetimports.com ] is my go-to for OEM parts when ordering from a Porsche dealer. (He also helped with the front lip spoiler group buy, which is still going on ...). FWIW, I've always found Sunset's pricing to be generally better (i.e., lower) than Suncoast. No connection here, just passing along info.
Good luck.

We are in the process putting together an order for Sport Bucket seats with Porsche. For the moment we will assume they will be priced around the same as the current 997 Sport Buckets.
For serious inquiries send us a PM or an email at parts@suncoastparts.com

Way to go Suncoast. There are obviously a lot of people interested in this solution-including myself. Thanks for coming through for us with a fully functional Porsche solution. Hopefully, pricing will be within reason.

blah, blah, blah...why not?
Did you read Sam's thread on the fact that he had a .2 997 gt2 type sport bucket seat fitted to his 991 gt3? Tell us exactly why you DO NOT RECOMMEND fitting these seats in an honest & forthright manner!

The current 991/981 ROW gt2 sport bucket seat might serve our needs even better on our US 991 gt3...as an alternative to the fixed-back 918 type sport bucket seats!

The problem with using the GT2 buckets on the 911 GT3 isn't the wiring harness. That fits just fine. It's the passenger seat side seat occupancy detector. It is not compatible with the 997 occupancy detector. The 991 seat sensor must be transplanted into the 997 GT2 bucket seats to make it work

I may be in the minority, but if I get LWBs for my 991 GT3 I want the OEM seat that belongs in the 991, has full functionality including airbags and weight sensor, and requires no hacks or workarounds to install. Beyond that, it depends on price.

Yes I am interested, subject to a reasonable price of course. My thinking is along the line of Mike's as he stated here...
To be clear also... I would NOT be interested if it is 5 digit purchase price...

We know what you are trying to sell here...the expensive 918-type sport bucket seat. That is why I said I was changing the topic and asking you about a question about the gt2-type sport bucket seat (see quote above). For your information, the current gt2 type sport bucket seat is a 991/981 seat in ROW. And it now has a heating option, which the 997 version did not have. The point is that the current gt2 type sport bucket seat folds forward for greater access to the rear of the 991, has a heating option and is LESS EXPENSIVE than the 918-type. In addition to trying to sell us 918-type sport bucket seats, why don't you figure out for us how you can import that other sport bucket seat and test fit them in a US spec 991 and/or 981! That would be something that would be appreciated by a lot of us.

BTW, isn't there also an issue with the US version of the 918 seats in that they do not have a passthru on the passenger side for a harness.

In many markets, the only bucket seat you can order on a 991 gt3 is the gt2 type. Does that make the gt2 type the more available OEM bucket seat for the 991 gt3 model in general...and thus most 'original' to the 991 gt3???
Just because you can't order the gt2 type bucket seats here in the US doesn't make them less legitimate (or not OEM) on a Porsche German-built 991 gt3!

I wonder how much of a premium will have to be paid for red stitching in an aftermarket seat, or easy they will be to get? Since I was anticipating the possibility of retrofitting LWB's at some point, that was one of the reasons I chose platinum stitching for the interior in the first place.
