It's called the Auto Pact agreement from the 1960's and believe me I think it stinks since we also need the DOT on everything while a TUV approval would exceed many DOT standards and safety regulations, for example Laser/Matrix lights as Audi is experiencing right now.
The agreement also prevented Canada pursuing free trade in automobiles elsewhere internationally, and this North American exclusivity led Transport Canada to adopt the technical regulations of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rather than participating in the European-based development of international consensus on auto safety and emissions regulations

So according to Porsche in Germany the rear part will not be available for sale anywhere. Not in Germany or anywhere else. It is only available for CS models.

We have an option available for the GT3 and the RS

Features
-1.625" x 0.095" 4130 chrome moly steel tubing utilized for excellent strength to weight ratio

-TIG welded and utilizes "X" braces on front and rear sections for superior strength and rigidity

-Mounts to longitudinal frame structure (utilizing factory bolts) and rear strut towers to provide strongest mounting points and maximum protection

-Utilizes laser cut mounting plates & inner diameter tube clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit

-Designed to work with stock seats or any aftermarket seats on the market

-Allows full seat travel to accommodate taller drivers

-Can be used with stock seat-belts or 6 point harnesses for track use

-Designed to work with wrap-around style harnesses while optional eyelet bolt provisions are available for clip-in harnesses

-OEM fit & finish. The main hoop contours entire arch of the roof with an even 3/16 inch gap

-Finished in satin black powder coat. All custom colors available as well

-Bolt-in installation requires no drilling and minimal carpet trimming

Looks like great quality. But why put the horizontal bars on the back structure? Schroth strongly recommends keeping the belt mount within 8" of the back of the seat. Much beyond that and they recommend you start crossing the belts.

Schroth recommends 8" if possible..
Sabelt recommends 16", OMP 14", Willans 9" and TAKATA 16"..
So its not an exact science.

Our cage design puts the belts in exactly the same point as they are in a 991 Cup car. The whole cage mimics the design of the Cup Cage.

Good to know! Again, looks like a really high quality piece. Nice work.

Can you elaborate on this? Is it just carpet trimming, or so the interior panels also need some trimming? Any pictures of one installed?

Thanks!!

Marius, looks like a very clean install, nice and far back, maybe further back than the OEM?
Your mounting points and hardware are the same as on the CS roll bar?

Anyway, they OEM bar, not for sale: http://www.eisenmann-sportauspuff.de/DE/index.php

Peter

The cage has almost identical spec as the Cup Cage for the 991. I attached a picture.
The CS is pretty much the same. As for the mounting points out version is not as complicated to install. The CS is very complicated to install and involves a lot of welding. Thats why Porsche doesn't release it.

Well we actually like to distinguish ourselves a bit from the CS one.
Really the big difference is that we don't use the knot braces..

Looks great Marius and probably the only option for us living in "backward" North America with screwed up DOT laws! How much lead time do you need and costs? I would need my cage sent to Vancouver, Canada!

Lead time is 2 to 3 weeks at the most.
The cost for the Cage is $3300.00 plus around +- $200 shipping door to door.
That includes powder coating in most colors. Special colors need to be discussed but should be around $120.00
