I can't quite recall--had to subject myself to mental and behavioral reconditioning as a requirement of HOV sticker issuance.

After some reflection, I'm now obsessed with getting an E36 M3. I lusted over this car as a kid (yes, I'm that young), and now I can have it. And because this will be a neutered US version, I will not care if it gets dinged, stolen or bird-pooped-on. Also, makes for an OK back up track car, although that's a slippery slope (Orthojoe can explain to me how to stack cars on top of each other, so I'll be ok)

I have 5 Porsches in the garage to stirr my soul and a Prius to feed my OCD: "Oooh... I'm charging the battery by coasting and braking!!"

The voice of reason.
You obviously haven't driven the i3. A Prius, for example, is great transportation but basically soul-less; the BMW isn't even close to that. The i3 is technologically interesting, much quicker than any other electric short of a Tesla, and fun to drive. Wouldn't have bought one otherwise....

E30 M3 is better. That if you don't mind spending 20K on an 80s car. The M gurus say no real M3 has been made after that. Pretty much similar to those that say the 964 is the last 911 ever made.

Nice choice.

They are much more than 20k now. E30s aren't used as beaters anymore. E36 m3 makes a great beater

lol...I guess my 13 Cayenne GTS, while my DD wouldn't apply...I have however considered a raptor for beat up duty...though they aren't exactly dirt cheap either.

E30 m3 are not beaters. They cost much more than 20k now. E36 fits the bill nicely.
