weird how we keep hearing and seeing about the gt2 rs.. but nothing really about the gt3rs. however, having heard wallisser's quote today, i'm inclined to now believe that the gt3 can remain NA, while providing more power.

: "Moreover, despite the fact that the normally aspirated 4.0-litre engine already produces 493bhp and revs to 9000rpm, it has considerable additional development potential. Walliser says the most they’ve seen so far is 608bhp with the engine "screaming on the bench".

And also sounds like AP said don't bet on a manual for the next RS (I take that to mean either GT2 or GT3RS)

i think RS gets PDK-s moving forward.. makes sense as they try to separate them.

I won't buy gt2rs in MT. Need to be PDK. Interested to see what kind of hp this 9k 4.0l engine actually produces. We know Porsche is always conservative with their numbers

PDKS sold me on the idea of a TTRS.

SMFW not available in new GT3. Only R and it is a very special experience.

Good point. Just like they say, "what you don't know wont hurt you"

Agree. It's a logical progression particularly given the all turbo competition the RS faces these days, and the need for the RS to record excellent ring times and performance comparisons as the top 911.

Still as the next tightening of european emission isn't until 2021, I'm thinking we might still get one final NA .2 GT3RS, before everything Porsche goes turbo other than the GT3, but I expect the GT3 will stay NA with a manual option forever from this point forward, as Porsche will keep one "pure" drivers 911 around for us enthusiasts.

Not on 991.1RS it is a dual mass. Needed for the PDK.

Love that gear crunching noise: Friend with GT3 couldn't believe his ears when he got a ride with me.

^ Make that 2. Not sure about displacement but there is no logical support for there *not* to be a .2RS.

And I'll put another buck in a stick shift RS at the end of the .2 run.

Correct, a lighter (than GT3) dual mass FW.

Interesting how Pistonheads says this new GT3 makes the RS feel like "a bit of a tractor".. they're referring to peak power in the old engine being reached lower in the rev range while new GT3 has so much further to go
