Downside possibly is they look like they sit a bit higher. Can anyone confirm any of this?
I have the LWBS in my GT4 and they are definitely wider than the folding bucket seats in the butt/thigh area for me.

During my wait for the GT4 I read every post possible about the LWBS and do recall seeing a post mentioning how the newer LWBS were wider to make them more comfortable compared to the folding buckets.

Definitely try to find a car with them to sit in before committing. Maybe search for any Porsche Club events at a local track near you. There is bound to be someone with those seats participating.

Since the picture has been taken in Germany you can also use the sky as a grey point reference, which also leaves only a tiny bit of green channel overweight.

I should start sending out white balance cards. This is getting unscientific

The good news is that the week-end is in around two hours for me. I will really enjoy it as I obviously need to sleep

Might go with silver wheels?
Red roll bar, stitching, belts and brakes.
Since I can't get my dream colors (a classic blue, green or grey)... This is exactly my thinking for the new GT3, only no red except for steering wheel center marking. Think I'll go non-metallic black again. Just need to decide between the standard or matte silver wheels now...

Thought I could finally get away from black (near impossible habit to break) but the more I look at those rather large black plastic air intakes out back, the more compelling it seems. Talked myself into it again.

I'll change it up a bit by going with silver wheels this time around, and perhaps carbon fiber mirrors.

Other than for a daily driver, black's almost never wrong for a 911. Then again, most colors look great on a great body style.

Agree with STG re chameleon, designer colors. Just give us some simple, classic and less complex colors PORSCHE! That graphite looks amazing sometimes, but you need just the right light.

The 911R is worth where Porsche priced it at MSRP. Those that paid that price should be very happy. But - the .2 GT3 will also have a "manual" option and it has a better engine that revs to 9000. It will be interesting to see if "R"s appreciate down the road because other than a plaque the car never moved me because just looks like another 911 w/stripes.

Also - the .2 GT3 will not be the last GT3 that is NA with a Manual. Any one thinking these cars will appreciate I think is smoking. Yes - because of its price point and desirability it will hold value nicely and probably depreciate a lot less that other "Porsche" models- as do most "GT" models except the the 2014/15 991.1 GT3s may start seeing some hits now

It also depends on the price differential. If the new GT3 stays up high, that will probably help maintain the entire range. If the new GT3 is $200k and the previous gen is $150k, and there's CPO involved, I don't see much changing. I also think there will eventually be a price difference within the .1s based on what top end remedies have been done. Should be interesting to watch!

BTW, I was hoping that the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 would drop in price due to the .2 GT3 but just saw where one sold for...$750k!

Agree. The additional 13K MSRP cost for the .2 GT3, plus the additional dealer mark-ups for the first year of GT3 production will support .1 GT3 prices, particularly dealer cars sold with CPO.

The .1 GT3 is a fantastic car, and while the .2 GT3 is 8% better than the .1 GT3, that doesn't diminish how amazing the .1 GT3 is to drive!

Value on the .1 GT3 will be fine as long as the engine/top end replacements prove reliable (so far so good). I know the .2 engine is "race proven" but it still needs to be reliable on the street. No fires!

When it does I have my sights on a 997 RS 4.0. Yeah, I am dreaming.

Unfortunately, haven't had a chance to read this entire thread so this may have already been covered, but I am wondering has Porsche announced or does anybody know if the 991.2 in the manual will have the auto-blip feature that the GT4 has?

No info on that, but judging by fact that it's an integral part of the R transmission when in sport mode for both up and down shifts, no reason for it not to be included. It's an awesome feature, and works better than any human. Can also be switched off so really no harm in its existence
