GT3 To 570S
Good day everyone,
I've got a '15 GT3, 5K miles, perfect condition. I love the car, I don't drive it much but I love it. I previously tracked my cars but I haven't tracked this one or my Z06/Z07 but once. Anyway, has anyone moved to a 570S? I probably should be happy, especially since I just added some BBS wheels but the bug has started and I was wondering if anyone else has made the switch.
Thanks and Happy Holidays to you,
Brian

only advice is buy a used 570s...the depreciation on Macs is comical

I hear you! That is what I'm worried about. And I'm worried about missing my car. I wonder if the depreciation hit on those cars isn't going to be as bad with the lower price point. Meaning, how far can they go. I guess that they could go down like a Turbo S. Either way, I don't have a good reason to do this, haha.

Keep the gt3.
Naturally aspirated, great sounding, no turbo lag.

They are also leasing fairly strongly so if you are worried you can go that route and know what your cost will be for the entire experience.
I've also been looking at them as I love the flying buttress and with a dealer that posts here a good bit its rather easy to pick one up without a bunch of bs. I love the cockpit - entire pkg- if you keep yourself from checking all the MSO carbon boxes you can keep it under $200k.
Cheers ,

I'm pretty sure even the 650S took a good hit especially when the 675LT was announced. The LT was selling for over sticker but now is starting too cool off. I think in general the Macs don't hold their value. Check out some of the videos Alejandro solamon has posted about the brand.

ok on a real note here for real people, all "non-serial number" cars tend to drop once they are used. the only reason why ferraris hold their value at all is because owners are scared to sell them, which gives the dealers a chance to choke the supply.
the only cars that hold value from ferrari are the special edition cars- you can get a 458 coupe, used with less than 5k miles on it, for 50-75k less than sticker and those things at one point sold for 50k OVER. That's a 100k hit easy.
A 911 turbo will go from 200k to 145k in 2 years (there are 2 for sale now on RL classifieds).
the used 650S market is somewhere in the 220-265k range depending on the options, color, etc. Some colors are harder to re-sell. So if the cars went from 300k to 220k over 2 years and 10k miles or 250k after 1 year and 5k miles that's the same type of drop that everything else takes.
I think the biggest issue with the mclarens is that there are not that many dealers, of course they make less than 3000 mclarens a year worldwide, so not a lot of volume to go around.
In a non-biased inside track- if you live in the San Fran, Newport Beach, Scottsdale, Dallas, Philly or NY/NJ area you have a great McLaren dealer there. If you live outside of those regions, you will have a mixed experience.

Mclarens are some of the ugliest performance cars around. even if the performance is marginally better, you have to look at that hideous thing sitting in your garage all the time.
Keep the gt3 or head to the fezzers

I've been looking at adding a 570s also. Love the ride.
Cj there are a lot of 16s still around but still asking close to MSRP. Bit of the Range Rover phenomenon. How can people still be asking so much with 17s starting to hit inventories?
I mean there are ALOT of 16s around. Cars that I saw 6+ months ago are still on dealer lots.

Drifting
Had a MP4 list 310 3k miles 20 months later 185k
Was going to try again 650S new but called demo 70k off sticker - went with a 420k FF sticker for 200k off with 1500 miles.
Mclaren unlike Ferrari produces unsold cars buy the 100's - that's being kind.
They make a special version or change so often it makes ones head spin.
On the other hand fantastic cars and they are trying hard to make the best car in their market whatever that means as they tend to talk a lot more than the other factories.
Closest dealer - 300 miles away to retain warranty one must have it inspected pre and post track days that was the final straw.
If you have an excellent dealer it helps if you don't you are SOL.
The warranty maybe it's changed can only be extended if the dealer sells the used Mac. It's damn near impossible to sell a Mac on your own.
P14 570s P1 - I think they are on the right track suggest doing your homework or get a used MP4 or 650s great deals.

All personal preference, but I can't imagine selling that beautiful, iconic car to get a mothra styled, turbo lagging, tacky interior sporting McLaren. I'm sure they're awesome cars, but the front ends just look retarded and those interiors, ugh.

Keep the GT3 ....the 570s is a more powerful car , but you will miss the NA engine , the sound and porsche's reliability and much much better re-sale value .
I test drove 570s for a whole day ,and would never change it over my 3 , but would love to have it with the 3

To very directly answer your question, Matt here on the fourum (ducati1199) just went from GT3 to 570s.. he just took delivery two weeks ago. Send him a PM, great great guy, will give you his perspective.
I drove a 570s and was blown away by the chassis, compliant suspension, good power and best in class steering feel. Seems well made.. just not a car id buy new.
