How many 968s are left?
#31
# of 968's left
Hello,
I started the original coupe registry in early 2003. I have searched almost daily to collect all that I could find. I have 705 coupes collected ...so almost 1/3 of them. I don't know about cabs...jeff would. I would expect that at least 1/2 or all 968 produced are still on the road.
Hope this helps.
Graham.

I did know about that. But the problem is the time. It will take me 3 years to input all the 968 data into my excel spreadsheet. I would image the Carfax questions x 4,242 would take quite some time as well. Maybe if i get laid off in a few years I'll do that

PET7 and 7.1 will give option info when VIN is given to it. Quess what can be done with suitable software.

Why do it manually when computer can do it much more quickly? See dates between messages #24 and #32.

I've seen two more coupes around the Detroit area I don't know the owners of, one red, one black. I saw the red coupe again yesterday in downtown Royal Oak, MI. I was passing him oncoming in my 95 SVX and he was leaning against the window so hard if it opened he would of fallen out. He was either thinking how he hasn't seen an SVX for awhile, WTF is that car, or he just wished the goofy SVX's would all just go away. I've seen the red coupe at a few PCA events, but never met the guy.

did anyone arrive at any good data on numbers of cars left in the fleet...
numbers of driver cars,
numbers collecting dust, etc
I reckon not.

I do keep track of the "dead" 968s that have been spotted but I'm quite certain I don't know of them all. I could only guess at how many are left.

I'll hazard a guess that from crunching numbers from your data,
a very good estimate could be generated.
what is the breakdown of coupes/cabs shipped to the states?
based on the stat below, I'd make a guess of maybe something like 70% still in service here.
