Pricing question - Selling 964
I'm thinking of selling my current 964. (i'm actually selling both my cars and planning on consolidating into one car...the other is a 997 TT)
I wanted to take in some advice on pricing ball park. I don't really want it sitting around, and buying season is right around the corner here in the North East. I've spent a little time running through similar cars on the market, but the pricing is all over the place. Any advice very welcome. I will obviously write a much more robust listing, but here's some info on it.
Details -
Clean car fax, title in hand.
1992 964, C2
Manual Trans
78,000 miles
Upgraded suspension, rides at RS height I believe (need to check folder for specifics)
Original Cup 1 wheels with new tires
Overall condition is very good in and out
Service history back to basically new
Not driven in rain, stored in winter (boo)
I picked it up from a local PCA president and rennlister

post pics of interior, bolster, engine bay, and under car. Has top end ever been done? any paintwork or accident history? Post pic of options sticker. What DOESNT WORK (i.e. do all the electronics and heat/ac items work, etc)
Range would be 45-60 most likely. Lower end if somethings not done and needs things, higher end if it really 'needs nothing'

all depends how fast you want to sell it. if you list it at the top 65 it might sit for a while beyond the selling season. 59 seems to be the magic number for a decent 964. you get into the 60's they seem to sit a little longer unless it is very very rare and exceptionally clean.
looks like a really nice care from what i can see with an honest representation of its history. good luck with sale. hope you get 65

Just my .02 worth fix all the little things at a minimum first. It might look like nothing but it seems to turn people off when they see missing parts like the cover on the front bumperette. For some reason they equate that with poor maintenance or ownership although we all know it is insignificant. The parts are a few $$ and money worth spending.
First impressions are big with these cars. I agree if it is a clean original car I would hold out for the $$ it might take time but there are interested parties out there. Anything under 100k miles is rare nowadays. Top end is not an issue unless the numbers come back saying so. Might want to have that checked out independently before you list it to be sure.

Thank you all for the considered responses. Much appreciated.
I was contemplating putting the car up for sale in April, which is the start of buying season here in NY. However simply from this posting several people have come forward with interest. All very well educated Porsche/964 people....that's what I love about RL.
I'll share any updates.

I have decided to sell the 964. I'll post a proper classified this weekend, but wanted to let you all know here first. I'm looking for $65k. In lieu of a full write up yet, here is a link to a badly produced walk around video I shot this weekend. The car is looking great. PM me with any questions.

That should make someone very happy.

$65K for this car is definitely on the higher end of this car's worth, IMHO, unless all of the big $$$$$ items have been addressed already, including new top-end engine rebuild, clutch etc. I see the suspension has already been upgraded, which is a plus.
If you want a quick sale, price it lower. If don't mind the sale possibly taking months and months, and dealing with lots of phone calls, people and tire kickers, then hold out and see if you can fetch your price.
Good luck with the sale
