Here's a render for the Anniversary. With Riviera blue decals to match the belts, callipers and engine fan. I'll be colour coding the lower sills (excuse my poor photoshop) and putting on 993 door handles. Again all reversible mods.

Ella was used as a track car and as such never saw road salt which is common here in the UK. The result is that there is next to no rust on the car, even in the usual places! Looking at the paint condition we've decided where possible not to go back to bare metal as to not loose the original galavanising. The base is still very strong, a testament to dry track driving...

You're correct. The black headlight rings were not that great. I'd stick with your first render. Looks like a lot of fun to come up with those ideas and actually see them materialize.

Things are progressing well at Impact Bodyshop. We've found that the front bumper is fibreglass, must have been replaced at some point. It's in a poor state and I'll replace it with a genuine item.

For Susie, have you considered parallel 'cobra' stripes down the centre of the car/bonnet in a slightly darker silver?
I think they did that on the sport classic cars, so it would relate well for the jubi...

"Ella" Update,

Well we're getting very close now. Next week the body work should be complete.

Looking good. You have a lot of irons in the fire and making progress on all of them. I am curious about the brake cooling they have done on your car. I see it enter the tub through the hole in the side but where does it pick up air from? Apparently you plan on doing some track time in this beauty.

Tantilisingly close to finishing the bodywork now on Ella. Very happy with the colour coded roll cage and under sills/ bumpers.

A short while back I started searching for a 3.6 Turbo. Having located one in Monaco I contacted the 3.6 Turbo registry to run some background checks. John who runs it asked me if I were interested in a Guard Red RHD drive one, that he knew wasn't 'technically' for sale.

Put in touch with the owner Alex, I spent time talking with him about the car. Eventually he decided to sell it to me, humbled. He saw my passion for 964s and after 14 years of ownership was happy she would go to a good home. The deal was done. My first job will be to replace the after market spoiler with a factory item.

Shortly afterwards a 1989 Turbo G50 came onto the market, low and behold in Guards Red also.

They are starkly different to drive. The 965 is refined and the power delivery effortless by comparison (also compared to the same HP naturally aspirated in a 964). The turbos spool up progressively and simple throttle adjustments allows for smooth power delivery. The 930 is a much more raw experience. The turbo comes in more aggresively and the lag is very exciting. It's been rebuilt with hotter cams, faster Turbos and a more efficient intercooler.

Both cars are fantastic in their own way. The 930 is named Tina and the 965 Zoe.
