Can I just do like what this guy did with the "Bridge adapter relay," in lieu of splicing all that junk?

That thread is for a 993, but I think it applies to the 964 as well, no?

Finished my install. I am getting hot air into the left vent but as it moves to the right vents it gets cold. I dont think i have it seated in very well on the lower part of the bypass. Need to adjust when i get time. Do you think this is just a loss of hot air? or has anyone noticed a similar effect?

To me that sounds more like the servo motor for the right side mixing flap has gone bad and is stuck, I think in the closed position. ToreB's website does a nice job of explaining how to diagnose that issue, if i remember correctly.

Hey Streetdaddy, no problem! Hopefully i sent you in the right direction. It's a small world! Most of my family is in the Tulsa area, though there are still a few out in Sayre. I'm in Houston but spent two years in Norman for graduate school - I miss that place. We don't have the nice rolling hills here in flat Houston, someday I'll take a road trip up there in my 964 i think!

I did the wire trick first, and it work fine. Then I use the Bridge Relay now for 3 years everything work perfect.

Did you remove the fuse too? Or just put the Bridge Adapter Relay in there?

Mine is wired like Spyerx posted. Works perfectly. I wonder if this is a late model early model 964 difference and the way we used only works on the later MY cars.

Thoughts?

I have a 91, but the date on the little gold sticker in the door well says December 90. Not sure if that matters. I removed fuse and tried the Bridge Adapter Relay and the jumper method. Will try the purple wire method today and see if that finally works.

my car is a 91, the purple wire method is what worked. Remove the relay, tap the purple wire, jump to that relay plug. Make it tidy. Worked for a year, no issues. I do get a no-fan error in the CCU codes though :-) But there is no fan.
