Since it was above freezing out today...finally! I decided to tinker around with the 964. Today's install was a Fabspeed Cat bypass. It was a super easy install, fit the way it should and it felt good to work on my car again.

the two side by side, not much of weight savings that I noticed, maybe a few pounds

The new bypass in

I also replaced the hardware with new stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. The old ones were pretty crusty.

Time to beautify the car a little. Ever since I bought it the spoiler had split right in the middle and also had a crack on the one side. So I got another one from Ebay.

crack in the middle

crack on the side, after I had already pulled it off

old and new to me, but also old

for some reason the one I bought looks a lot smaller

new one on with no cracks!

next up is saying bye bye to the mirrors, I had bought a set of aero mirrors on Ebay a while ago and since it is no longer absolute zero outside, I can finally install them.

the two side by side

At this step I got out my buffer and compounded most of the marks from the original mirror out. Then I hit it with a swirl remover and here we are

This could be interesting looking

I did actually put both on, just no pics of it out yet.

What offset are your super cups? Any pics of test fitment? Your progress is impressive!

I like it a lot, the car idles nice and smooth and it feels like a little extra punch of power above 4k

Offset on the super cups are 39 front and 47 for the rear. I haven't taken pics of any test fitments yet.

another pic

I just developed the same crack on mine. Any thoughts on why?

my guess is that the spoiler became unaligned over time and it cracked after being bent a bunch of times.

The spoilers crack by design*. Here's a 5pg thread of cracked 964 spoilers. Your cracked spoiler isn't trash, people repair them. Your replacement will probably crack too.

39 front! That is a very low offset for the front, what width is the wheel?

After going thru a few steering wheels I decided on a new 350mm momo monte carlo, I also bought a leather horn button with the porsche crest on it to class things up a little. Its such a nice feel.

Sweet C4! Can you explain further how to fix the "smiley" face issue?

I can't see 8J ET39 working! Especially with full fat tyres. Anyway, sure you'll sort it, look forward to the pics.

mine was pretty easy to fix. i removed the black faring at the front of the car under the bumper. There are a couple metal tabs that the lower section bolt to. I used my pliers and bent them down and re-attached everything. Good as new and didn't take long at all.

after (the one on the right):

pretty much what tfitch03 said, it's a very easy fix.
