The length of the wires is all over the place. Buying two sets of 6 wires will likely not get you there.

I sent mine back and have been credited in full...they also gave me a paid return label. So the whole process was painless and worth the attempt...but if I ever see the 9667 part number cheep again I'll likely pick up a set.

I wouldn't try to make a good set out of these. If you are trying to save money, grab the pre-cut sets at pelican. They are sub 200, and cut to length and you re-use your ends. If you have a plug end here and there that needs replacing, you call beru and they will send them out, not expensive...

Calls to Rock Auto have been unproductive as they insist a set of wires for a 1992 964 3.6 should only have six plug wires. Do two sets of these wires make a complete 964 set or are upper and lower wires different? If two sets will work can I reuse the grommets and loom bits from my old wires or do I have a mess on my hands?

Thanks!

call Rock back and reference my order. All the research and legwork has been done.

Laker,

RockAuto has been far from cooperative about this. I referenced your order and was told "that was a completely different part number and is not relevant to your order" (I ordered 9666 clearance wires, wasn't aware you had something different). After two polite but frustrating phone calls that got me nowhere I drafted a very lengthy email explaining the issue with these wires and was finally authorized to send the wires back at my own expense for a refund of purchase price and outbound shipping. I am not impressed with RockAuto.

In the end they charged me to ship them back as well. And refunded me all but the ship charge.

Denver-
check out my order details from post #5
I got a full refund incl. shipping and they sent me a prepaid return label.
I don't know what else to tell you.... Josh said if it was a catalog error they would refund in full, incl shipping and that's what they did.

Denver, Ask for Josh....if you ordered 29666 based on their catalog, they owe you a full refund. Be sure to point out they are STILL offered for our cars despite them admitting it was wrong....

Got the Bosch wires, didn't realize they lack the grommets to go through the engine tin and the brackets. I don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to unscrew the ends to get the grommets in. The plug ends didn't seem to twist off easy. I am returning these Bosch plug wires and will stick with the original Beru set that has everything you need. Lesson learned.

Ricardo, just stick a little screwdriver into the boot run it around the cable, spray a little electronics cleaner in there and they should just unscrew very easily....
