Default New project - 993 tt transplant

Well with the other vram engine swap almost complete I started getting itchy fingers...so I found another engine...

...to go in this car:

Should bolt straight in right? Might even keep the AC

Picking the engine up early next week inc loom, ecu and intercooler. Would like to keep the 964 engine lid if possible so will look at alternative intercooler options(and a gazillion other things).

Just wondering, does anyone happen to have a spare set of instructions for this mod?

I was just looking at it going 'if I had the right car this is quite a rare lump!' Lol

Look forward to this one mate.

There was a Rennlister who did the same mod, very fast car. Can't remember his name, but here is a picture of the car.

Looks like a really clean engine. Is it going straight in or are you gonna check things out?

Yes and what a car . The owner's name was Robert and his username on the forums is LA964R. More info here when it came up for sale.
Good luck with the build, I'll be watching.

Yeah, sure. :-))
I do remember this same gent saying, "it's not how fast it goes from 0-200 km/h, it how fast it goes from 200-300 km/h" that's really frightening. :-))
He did lighten the car up quite a lot, iirc in the range of 200-300 lbs, said it helped a lot for slowing that beast down.

Mine is running a liquid intercooler, thats how I got away not needing the large intercooler and wing on my C2.
Curious to see how it all works out for you, should be great!

Not easy to find these engines, you're very lucky!

I'll probably tip the grit out of it and see if it fires up then decide.

Yes it was the pic in your super thread that got me thinking of alternatives. I'll most likely get it going on the standard cooler first with any lid that will fit then look at a V2.

Its MUCH more hassle in an ib but never say never. I think the lump suits a 964 more especially if i can do it semi covert.

This sounds like a fun project.

I remember reading that while thread a few months ago. Did the get sold or does he still own it?

I'm just imagining a standard looking 964 with a 993tt engine etc surprising 997 and 991 drivers.
