Hi guys
Freedman I have a central cup tow hook and the strut is formed so that it has return edge at 90 Degrees to the strut, I'll take a photo it's easier!!
Rob it would be good to try and meet at a show somewhere, your car is a fantastic build mines just a bit interesting!! Ha Ha

Hot off the press! The strut sandwiches the tow hook just check sizes mine has to be a specific height from the ground and overall.

I assume you've got the specs if not the Blue Book is available on line so you can check.

Three Wheelin'
Doing Snetterton in October, I think, which is a non non MSA event, but nothing else as yet
Trying to keep in line with the roadgoing class rules, so no cage required and seats dont need to be in date etc
Just feeling my feet really, would like to do the classics, like Shelsley, Prescott and Harewood, but will see how it goes

Wow sounds like you got plenty planned matey! I'm concentrating on the Harewood championship this year get my signatures so I can get a National A license then maybe do some National events like Prescott etc.
Trouble now is I'm already considering totally stripping, dipping and seam welding car next year! Build it properly if I can be without the car that long!

Brake upgrade
Well I finally got round to fitting my new pedal assembly and getting rid of the ABS system that just became a constant pain whilst on track! So hopefully the car will be better to drive and some more weight shed
A lot of items to come out eh?!

great work Simon, good choice with the Tilton pedal box, they look well made for the money
the Tilton is on my short list along with Alcon and AP Racing so interested to know what you think about it
any idea how much weight you shed from ditching the ABS system (looks a big pile of stuff) and how did you go about stripping out the ECU/wiring

I have yet to put it on corner weights yet but I'll keep you posted! The wiring is the next job on the agenda I need to remove the loom and pair back all the tape. Unfortunately it goes from the frunk through the drivers wing and then back in at the top of the frunk into the fuse box so its going to be a ball ache!! Definitely a work in progress as all the lighting loom is part of it but its only time eh?!
The frunk looking a bit bare now might have to put something Back Ha Ha

Is there much cutting, drilling to get the pedals mounted?
What size MCs have you got?
Have you fitted a remote servo or it it now completely unassisted?
Is the driving position improved? ie less skewed to the left.

Hi Kos I haven't driven it yet so don't know! But it is an adjustable bias so can be set up to suit your own style etc.

There wasn't much work involved really I just made a new base plate with captive nuts and then welded it to the original pedal mount. It is still offset unfortunately and seating position is spot on. I used 0.750" for front and rear and 0.700" for the clutch.
The system is totally unassisted but I drove a rally 964 with a similar set up and the brakes felt really good and the car was probably 150Kg heavier!

Do you have any footage of the car in action? Maybe in-car footage? I imagine driving this car is total beast mode compare to most of our more mundane 964s.

I don't have many photos and no videos of the car on track actually! But I'm going to Nurburgring in July so I'm going to get a couple of laps shot and will post them up here!! Just hope the advent of a camera doesn't cause any issues Ha Ha

Ok so I finally got chance to drive the car yesterday and was very impressed. The main difference in feel between std. and the Tilton set up is you don't get the immediate urgency of the assistance but once you've used them a few times you can compensate for this with pedal effort.
After getting the bias set some where near the level of braking power, without locking up, is much better than with the ABS on! TBH it takes a lot to lock the wheels up so that's a bonus!
Since doing the change I've also shed another 25Kg of weight so car weighs in at 1080Kg so I'm very pleased that 1000Kg seems possible now!
