rear spoiler update with questions

If you're sure that the down relay was stuck closed and not actually energized , then I agree it's time to replace the relay.
Relay is a V23072-A1059-A203, a Tyco mini power relay "K" type, open, form C
I couldn't find one exactly like it on the internet, and all I found was this:
http://www.bmwgm5.com/V23072-C1061-A303.htm
He has an Ebay store, and I needed a different relay to repair the A/C condenser blower relay on my car and at the same time I ordered a V23072-C1061-A303. It seems like it will work as a replacement relay on the spoiler module, however it's enclosed and not open. All you'd need is a solder iron and a solder sucker to replace this.

ok I have verified all wiring and have done the "springer" test on the module and it is no good on the down relay trying to isolate the relay still wish there was a wiring diagram

Can I revive this thread with a slightly different spoiler problem?
I've a early model 964 which uses both the main control unit and the aux control unit, both located under the seat.
I can move the spoiler up and down without problems using the hand switch.
The problem I have is that the warning light is always on. It never turns off.
I have replaced both the control units with brand new ones, and the warning light still stays on.
What could be the problem?

It stays on after acknowledging the alarm?....that's the "!" button I believe.
It doesn't clear after the car starts rolling?
Pull the control unit, does it still light up?

The ! is not lit, only the spoiler warning light, even after driving it stays on.
If I pull the long shaped control unit, the light goes off, but after that I can't move the spoiler anymore with the hand switch.

Even if i drive real fast, the spoiler light is still on. But to be honest i didn't look to see if the wing extended anytime during drives. What speed does it extend? I will try it and report back.
If it extends, what do you think is wrong? If it doesn't, what should I check next?

You should expect it to extend when going above 40-45 mph and retract when slowing down through 10 mph.
For normal alarm function ,when pin 8 goes low, it activates the warning light. Even when pin 8 goes high, the warning light is "latched" on until acknowledge by the "reset" rocker button.
If the wire from pin 8 has chaffed and is grounded somewhere, the spoiler could be operating correctly yet you would have the warning light. But by pulling out the control unit, you clear the warning light, so that's not it.
I think you'll find that your spoiler is not operating correctly, and because it operates manually, that leads me to believe you have a loss of speed signal to the control unit.

Just tested the car again. The spoiler does not extend at speed. The warning light stays on even when moving off. The speedometer works.
For this version of 964, is the speed signal from Transmission sender to the Speedometer and then to the Spoiler CU?
And if the Speedometer is working, then maybe we need to look at wiring from Speedometer to Spoiler CU?
