Default sound deadening removal

got a bit bored this weekend waiting on parts, and I still have some of the sound deadening on my floorboards, so I decided to remove.

did a combo of dry ice and heat gun and all the big chunks are off. any suggestions how to clean up to bare metal? I want to hit it with some primer. This will lead to a full respray of the inside of my race car.

A twist knot wire brush on an angle grinder would probably do the job pretty quick.

Pay the next door neighbor kid $1/sq ft , give him a right angle wire brush and turn him loose.

MEK saturated rags....soak some old rags with MEK and place them around the floor.

Keep both doors open and a fan feeding fresh air through the car.

When you have to get in to handle the rags and do the cleanup of melted material, wear a respirator.

Eventually, you'll just be mopping up a liquid sludge.

Why do you want to get it to bare metal? There is already primer underneath the sound insulation.

I wouldn't wire brush it. You'll not only remove the primer, but probably remove the galvanizing. It would also make a mess of the insulation and make all sorts of dust.

Short answer is that I removed my dash and now I want to respray the inside of the car. I don't car to strip the primer. That's good but I want to get all the goop off I can

yep, like T said, MEK but ventilation and respirator a must. That glue was the worst $hit ever before we resprayed the old track car to white.
