RX7 oil cooler set up w/pix
well i got this setup from mochman and the rx7 oil cooler can be had for real cheap(mines was $15 from a local guy)all you need is:2nd gen rx7 oil cooler,rx7 AN adapters, oil cooler lines,AN fittings,951 AN adapters and some misc. aluminum for making brackets.this setup cost me about $160,this is huge compared to the stock oil cooler and its about the size that mocal and setrab offers.note:it is very hard to get the old oil cooler adapters off with the engine still in place,so be very patient if your going this route, and have a few bandaids ready .i had to remove the oil cooler w/lines,oil cooler adapters, sway bar, power steering and headlights(i was also converting to no headlights).i pretty much got everything off the net(mostly ebay).youll need a 32mm/1 1/4 wrench to take off the oil cooler lines and a 27mm/1 1/16 wrench to take off the old adapters.i just got it finished and never got to test it yet since i still need to install my header panel.hope you guys like the pix and ill be glad to answer any questions you might have...wayne
note:if you dont see the pix right away just click refresh or right click and copy and paste the url...enjoy

Hey Shortyboy,
Hey, looks like we're on the same
boat. Have yet to install mine but
I'm gonna put it where the IC is
& run a new IC front mounted using
an IC from a Supra. This IC is very
effecient. If you get a chance go &
have a look at one.
Sadly, it seems that lots of guys on
the list seems to think that you've
got to spend lots of Dollars to improve
the performance of our cars.

Shorty,
Did you remove the thermostat from the RX7 oil cooler? I don't see a major problem if you didn't, but I was wondering what your experience was.
J Chen,
I agree with you on the money aspect, but I don't think that the intercooler is the area where I would begin my search for more hp. Not sure where you are at with modifications, but there are a lot more things that provide a better bang for the buck before you need to look at the intercooler.

I never ran hotter with this setup actually ran cooler if you run a splitter in the front you will run a lot cooler on the track, however it is imperative you remove the mazda thermostat and block the hole or else the oil will bypass the cooler.
