Super clean looking '82 in NJ for pocket change. Add claims 'competition group' car. The pics are dated years ago, so no telling if it's still this nice.

Car was for sale 6 months ago with dark, garaged pics. Very similar description, needing head gaskets, but if I remembered correctly, the interior is ok and not this nice. It was asking for $2500 but I think it sold. Maybe the new owner is intimidated by the head gasket work and decided to sell for no loss.

These? I think they're 911 sport seats.

Looks to be VERY nice, all the little bits intact (other than correct air compressor)...for once I believe the miles...
Porsche 928 | eBay
Porsche 928 | eBay
The car is complete except for one spare belt, lug wrench, air compressor, and first aid kit. Everything else is there, tools, bulbs, spark plugs, gloves, books, window sticker, all keys (even the small ones) etc. The condition of everything is just right for the age and miles. The car looks to have been stored properly its whole life, no salt, winter, etc. The paint is very nice and has 3 or 4 really minor dings and chips here and there. The engine compartment is very much correct and original except for the four radiator hose clamps. very clean...but not in a just pressure washed kind of way. Original cad plating is about 80% which i think is outstanding.
Undercarriage has had additional undercoating from the dealer (its on the sales contract) so there's some black sh*t sprayed around in addition to the cosmoline...appears "correct" to the sales contract.. theres some wetness right in the middle around the rack..could be oil or PS. otherwise quite nice under there and again not in a "just pressure washed" way. Undercarriage cad plating pretty good and probably like new under that cosmoline. Rust holes in the rear muffler, and you hear them.
Car has LSD diff as indicated on the window sticker. The car runs and drives very well, syncros work excellent.
Interior is 95%. very slight pull of dash leather from passenger defrost vent...like a few mm. driver seat has a little wear, carpets excellent, steering wheel is very good just a few fuzzy stitches. the interior SMELLS RIGHT. This is pretty much impossible to reproduce once its been removed, wet, cooked, sweated in, or otherwise messed with. Radio and aerial are correct and works although not so good at holding stations. (I consider this a bamberg victory)
Theres some records, the majority of it a $4K service done in 1994 at around 10K miles. waterpump, belts, etc.
To the delight of some those stripes are TAPE but i think i saw them on the sales contract so think twice before removing.
This is one to get folks...these are few and far between. A few weeks of detailing and you'll be star of the preservation class. I love it but I already own too many of these.
Disclaimer: I looked at the car for about an hour, no lift. I drove it for about 5 miles...these are my impressions based on my experiences with these cars. This is NOT your pre-purchase inspection!!!

Those are 911 sport seats, shared with the early 928's. Most 928's with the comp package came with those seats (mine did). They may have only been available in the 928 with the sports package.
IMO they are the best seat for a 928, and the only "true" sport seat. The later power editions weigh too much to carry that title.
If anyone buys a 928 with those seats and doesn't want them, I could really use a second pair.

Nice looking car (minus the stripes). One thing, has it had a respray? The plated latch for the spare tire compartment cover looks to have been painted. If so, wonder why it would need it after so few miles...
I got to see this one in person today and take it for a drive...This car is exceptional. Jay the owner is a nice straightforward guy, bought the car from the original owner, they've know each other for years and remain in contact. The car was bought new in Hartford CT and remains within a 20 minute drive from it's selling dealership.

I asked the seller if the stripes were painted on or are they tape (much easier to remove...) but, he never responded. Like the car too sans stripes.

Very modest of you Andrew. Your one of the few I would trust putting "eyes on" on a 928OB that's for sale. T

Apologies if this is a repost, $34.5K BAT sale today for a black/black '90 GT with 50K miles, great interior/exterior cosmetics, recent TB, turbo twist wheels and cat delete. Makes me think I sold my '90 GT about 3 years too soon.....
