Well I skimmed that thread...everytime I start reading a thread on here I always end up with at least ONE question!
I have a plastic oil filler spout. Is there supposed to be a valve inserted into the rear most breather line or is it integral to the plastic units? (1987 automatic)

Thanks
John

I missed the whole thing.
I gotta say, I felt bad that he laid his head open to the bone, that was probably pretty painful. I gotta admire his ability to stay mad enough at an engine long enough to snap that breaker bar.
Maybe he should raise his serotonin levels with a pharmaceutical.

That thread should be linked in the sticky "New Visitors" as to what not to do with a 928. Or as an example for who should not own one.

....."who should not own one"........

That's a very profound concept, and you have hit upon one of the great secrets of 928 ownership. I think to maintain sanity and have any hope of making decent progress with a "needy" 928 you have to be able to assume some sort of a "siege mentality"...
Maybe not to the level of Megiddo and Thutmose III...
but you have to be able to see that the car can always hurt you back, and , it can always hurt you more.
Also, until you get smart, the car is smarter than you, and it has the upper hand.

That's why RL is so critical for those of us who are on the still-ignorant, constantly-blundering, and yet-uneducated side....

Now this is an interesting comment:

I particularly like the creative use of the word "until", which implies that it is possible to get smarter than the car. Interesting concept, that. Certainly there are folks who think that they are smarter than the car, but doesn't that just mean that the car wants them to think that they are smarter? The automotive equivalent of "giving enough rope", or letting a well-hooked fish run for a while.

Interesting thoughts, here.

I'll put Stan on the list of smarter than the car.

I'm not quite smarter than my car yet...... But that is why I have you guys right? It's the collective.
I'm so thankful for you guys. You have already saved me a couple of times.... and the best part is the attitude of this board! I mean, I have seen all kinds of comments and "back and forth"; but when the chips are down (literally); everyone here has the same goal of support the 928 community of owners.

I am very thankful for the advice, the discussion, and some of the outright kookiness shenanigans that goes on here.

Group hug.

.
I think that is the general consensus among Porsche owners. 928 owners are 'kooky'. Suits me just fine.
