That's what I was afraid of.

I drive with the windows closed.

Reminds of when my folks gave me a car. The kids complained it smelled like Gramma and her dog. I didn't notice.

Is that like Neatsfoot oil? Great on saddles, moto-X boots etc. My tin is abt 25 yrs old but the stuff still works well. Poor little Neats. :-(((

Yes - we've all heard of skin 'like dried leather'.

Sooo ... does this imply the Grossmutter's skin is in greater need of attention than that of elder femmes elsewhere in the world?

How racist, ageist, and globalist. Tsk tsk. (Have I got enough '-ist's' in there?)

Now what's that tub purchase limit again?

):-]

More like the peculiar tastes of the American consumer means that skin care products need to have a not-good-for-leather petroleum jelly base.

Just bought the German stuff today at my local supermarket. $9.00. I've applied it already in a very generous quantity and within two hours the seats were starting to feel a little more supple and the colour came back to life in the leather. It looks almost new again. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

I tried the US stuff over the weekend. Seemed to work pretty well. Left it on overnight. Wiped it off the next day. Seat leather is noticeably softer and has a moderate sheen that looks good. Not armor-all gloss, but not dried out matte, either. Was a little greasy after wiping, but after sitting another 24 hours that is gone.

I only ever use Crème de la Mer on the car seats.

Seriously though I'll probably give this a go. My seats are in pretty good shape just slightly harder than I would like.

Not sure about the scent yet. I did the seats on my cab, right now I have everything open and its in the carport, and its chilly and breezy, and pouring rain here in Honolulu. Let it sit in the sun with the top up and we will see about the scent. It was a little medicinal smelling going on.

The scent and the sheen are why the German stuff is recommended over the 'murican stuff.
