She'll get over it! Hahaha....
Yeah, there's a chance I'm married to her sister.

So I was also fascinated by the PO's "modifications"...
What was the dude up to? I'm guessing he had some working knowledge of engines because it was still running, but what was going on when you got in there?

He said he did everything so far to eliminate the "miss" in the engine. I witnessed the problem, and to me, it is a total momentary loss of power, akin to turning off the key, and then right back on. So I am leaning electrical, but before I can trace it down, I need to get all the sub-systems back to normal. He cut the hard lines to the fuel pressure damper, thinking he was bypassing the FP Regulators. Almost every vacuum line is cut or taken loose, and plugged. The temp sensor wires were completely corroded, the idle microswitch on the throttle body was jammed with gunk, and bent, not making the switch, and it was disconnected (might be the problem?) . The idle control, for the AC is disconnected, wires hanging, and the rear ground point is a ball of rust. I have replacement hard lines, I believe, for most. He cut. I will silver braze the ones I don't have. I have repaired the electrical items I have found so far, and started redoing the vacuum lines. I also need to redo the injector hoses...I do not like all the worm clamps he used.....everywhere under the hood. I can't believe this poor girl even ran at all. Sounds horrible, but it is all, so far, easy fixes. After all the fuel and vacuum lines under the hood are finished, I will go to the rear, as he said he replaced the fuel pump...can't wait to see what I find there....then to the CE panel! Stay tuned!

Got the front fuel damper reinstalled. I happened to just have all the replacement hard lines except the small "s" shaped one, that is missing a section..(why PO, why? ) I will swedge a new piece of steel and silver braze it back together...now I need the lines to go from the firewall to the hard lines.

Ron,
PM Blackshark. He will have your "s" line. Probably most everything else as well.

Good luck, Ron. It's always nice when you hear them running, the rest can be sorted out eventually.

How is the interior's condition?

Brian.

Will do. Been swamped at work.

Interior is fair /poor. Drivers bolster shredded, passenger seat worn, but not torn, 1 rear seat torn badly, dash and pod with standard cracks, shift boot missing, carpet good. Door cards seem good as well. Not too awful bad. Sport seat bottoms and backs are still stitched in, so a set of the leather covers might solve the interior problems...on down the road...

Got about an hour in the shop last night and made a repair to the S line....not my best work, a little sloppy, but looks ok. Swedged a piece of like fuel line, inserted the 2 halves, and silver blazed with 52% eutectic rod. Great stuff, but about 10$ a stick wholesale cost. It'll do, and should hold with no issues. Thought about painting it, but then I would have to have pulled the others and painted them...hey, I might still do that.... . Paint the damper as well....why not?

Did a little work on the vacuum lines this weekend. Had to order a vacuum limiter, and can't seem to find the vacuum thermos switch, which is supposed to be on the block somewhere....

Got her up on jackstands today. Crawled underneath for the first time. Needs some wiring repair, has some oil leaks, clutch line leaking, carbon canister lines broken, and the hard line from the canister to the rear of the car has a hole in it. Easy fix.

Installed it! What a bitch! The PO had plugged top vacuum line with tape wrapped around a bolt, and the lower one with a broken spark plug...WTF?

Hey, while I was in there, I found a wire loom going under the back of the throttle body assembly, into the valley...pulled it out, and it had a plug connector on it....turns out it connects to the IAC....perhaps this is why it idled so poorly.....lol...I have found soooo many things that would cause poor idle...once this thing is back together, it might run like a top!

I have ordered the special vent hose that goes from the oil separator / fill to intake...I am going to make one temporary tomorrow....if I don't have too much real job work to do, I will complete the fuel lines and vacuum, and try to start her back up.....we shall see...stay tuned!

Can anyone show me a pic of where the vacuum (I am assuming) lines go that connect to this little jewel? It's the little solenoid thing that hangs from the strut bar....thanks in advance!
