Thanks a lot Carl. I honestly wouldn't have this car without the work you put into it and you did all the hard stuff, including putting my smorgasbord of parts together, customizing where necessary (radiator mount, alternator bracket, intercooler mount, etc) and making it all work together. I had the much easier part - fit, finish, interior, some wiring, etc.

The last remaining item is to install a rocket red powdercoated intake spider I picked up to complete the underhood bling factor. Also might put some matching red paint into the 928 Motorsports logo of my polished cross-brace bar.

Thanks agaiin.

Could-you, please, make a thread about your B+B convertible?
I have seen only three to them so far:
- a green Euro
- a pearl white Euro
- a silver US

I will try to do that at some point. I've been trying to find out who the conversion shop was and you mention a B&B - what does that stand for?

Rich from Garage 928 in North GA also has one in a greenish / blue color. He purchased it from CA as well.

Thanks.

Here is B+B:
http://www.bb-frankfurt.com/index.ph...-en/928-cabrio

This is an old customizing shop in Germany, and they have made Cabrio and Targa 928.

Interesting... I was under the impression that these cars were converted out in CA in the 1980s and any of the ones that turn up seem to be coming from there.

My previous '79 convertible was done in the Carelli style, but I was never able to confirm the actual manufacturer. It has the metal top cover while maintaining the rear seats.

I sold it to a fellow rennlister several years ago when I got the GTS. Last I heard it had mated with a tree at a past SITM event. Not sure if it ever was repaired and returned to the road.

Just looked at the video links from the B&B site you provided. Mine is definitely not one of theirs as the doors and top treatment is very differerent. Theirs is one of the only ones I've seen that keeps the little upsweep at the rear of the door like mine has though, which is one of it's best design attributes in my opinion as it gives the side profile a little character. The Carelli-style like in Randy V's post is a straight line from the front of the door back to the end of the car. Both the B&B and Carelli also store the top under a flip up cover, whereas mine stores on-top of the rear deck just in-front of the trunk (fancier and more finished), but I prefere mine since the roof also visually breaks up the large flat rear deck. When I saw this particular car, there was something different about it from a lot of the orther 928 Convertible Conversions I had seen and I couldn't figure out why I personally liked this one so much, but it's those 2 styling elements plus the updated Jacquemond body parts (front & rear bumpers, side skirts, rear lower valence) with the S4 style lighting that do it. Pics of all of those styling elements are further down in the thread so I won't post them again.
