If trailering often, tow hooks out back are the way to go
(Bottom pic: rest stop) Followed Herman & Barb K to the 2012 OCIC in the wife's ML-350 diesel. What a comfortable/powerful tow vehicle that was. T
Stan: Check out the shirt: pie-night !

My 2012 Sloan Kwik Load roll-back. That was my 2013 Craiglist find of the year. I bought it from a local doctor who was leasing Corvettes and having his mechanic supercharge them, install racing suspension and brakes and then he would track the car hard. At the end of the lease he would put all the stock parts back on and give it back to the dealership. He finally decided to built a proper track car so he bought an enclosed trailer. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that ended up buying that Corvette. He thought he was getting a super low mileage gem. Little did he know...

Anyways, at the end of the lease, he removed the race engine and cage, even filled the holes w/ black RTV, and got rid of it...

Here they are in use
Here is the page: http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...lerearsway.php
It is advised that you cross your straps as shown. Then you not only tie it down, but you also control movement of the car side-to-side. If you ever arrive at your destination and the car has moved over mysteriously... that's why. They bounce.

But when my crew grew, and we needed more sleeping room and needed to haul more spares, we worked up to the current rig. Wouldn't been an issue for a typical weekend race, but some of my events (Pikes peak, Bonneville) are a week in duration and many many miles from home. So you carry spares!
Sleeps 4, has a exterior stove, interior microwave and fridge and bathroom with a full-sized shower. Trailer has a 4000 lb hoist in it. Lots of storage. Bought the trailer from a alcohol-fueled funny car team. Those guys are nuts!

I wouldn't use those, its not that easy. The lower link pin has to be allowed to spin. Our first edition of that tie down was made incorrectly because of this. Field testing found the problem and the tie downs we have been selling in the last several years have the improvement to make it work right on you 928.
There is a whole large thread on the Renn about this very topic. I don't want to hi-jack this one.

on the topic of tying it down...
Get a pair of Carl's (928 motorsports) rear tie-downs. Those double as swaybar adjusters. I think I see a pair on Tony's car in post #2. Then tie the fronts down by the wheels.
Going in, my lowered S clears the ramp. Some guys back the cars in. Go slow.

i dont usually haul.. but when i do, i use old rusty.
I dont use the cross strap technique as i care more about forward and back motion rather than side to side. never had it move side to side and after these last two seasons... thats several 1000 miles of towing. someday, ill get it registered again and drive it to laguna and sears as i used to !

Does she have a double d (Detroit Desiel) 8.2?
Changed many a head gaskets on those babies...and ran a few racks back in the day. At least yours is a tilt hood, ours were all back-breaker models.
