Default Crossover mounting suggestions (Hans' door speakers)

I'm in the process of reconditioning my door panels, which includes new speakers (there are currently just big gaping holes there). I bought a set of Hans' speakers, which should be arriving soon I think, so I'm trying to figure out the best spot for the crossovers. Were there stock crossovers in the doors, or just caps and resistors inline? Any pics or links would be great...I searched, but couldn't find any, although I know I've seen some back when I wasn't looking

Here's what I did. Make sure the crossover does not hit the inside of the door by clearancing with a straight edge. Good choice, Hans speakers kick ***.

That looks good. I don't have the kit yet, I think he's finishing building the crossovers, so I haven't seen them...are they just screwed into the board there?

Yes. I just remembered... I glued a wood block that I had shaped to fit the contour of door card, then screwed the crossover to it. Door card is too thin to just use the screws. Hans will provide all except the wood block.

I also just received a set of Hans' speakers with those crossovers for my 89 S4. Which wire is input to the crossover? The factory wires to the main speakers in the doors? The outputs to the door speakers are obvious as in your pic above. Thanks for the assistance.

Figured it out-remove existing cross over and wire in new unit from Hans in same position.
