Default 295/35/18 on an S4

Ok so when these tires were on the the 11" et51 rims they did not fit. I swapped for a pair of 10" et58 wheels with 265/40's, but the tires are done, cracking and a plug. I was thinking of putting the 295's on the 10" wheels, but the section width is so much wider I don't think they are going to fit without any fender rolling.

Anyone have experience with a Carrera III 10" et 58 on an S4 with a 295?

It's close but, they fit on mine. The rear lips are not rolled either.

You might ping Dan H (s4ordie) - on his former S4 (the Zyclamrot car) he ran 295's on 18 x 10 ET47 Cup II replicas. ET47s stick out 11mm further than your ET58s. So, I think you're safe, but YMMV. I don't think he had to do any treatment to make them fit, but I'd check with him to make sure.

Well I might as well have them mounted and try them out. Fingers crossed.

Will report back my findings.

Problem with going wide in the rear is that the difference in width between the front and rear causes tramlining. I have 285 on the rear and 225 up front and when I change the tires next year I'll increase the front to 235 and go down in the rear. Tramlining sucks.

Yep, but no money in the budget right now. My plan is new rubber next summer with a smaller rear and a 235 up front.

JWise is correct. They fit. I used Hankook Ventus ev12 295 tires. Not all 295's are the same width as different manufactures have varying sidewall thickness or stiffness which can affect fit/rubbing.

I did roll the wheel wells just a tad to make them fit. As JWise said, these tires on 18inch wheels not the stock 16 or 17 inch.

I have cup3 with 235 front and 265 rear. The rubber is Continental sport 3's.

Absolutely rock solid zero "tramlining" and nothing rubs.

It's tight, but they fit and no rubbing.

A duck's *** is tight [as in water tight]- it would sink otherwise- but that looks perfect to me-not what I would call vaguely close. Not so sure I like the idea of running a 295x35 section though unless you are on an economy drive [higher gearing on an already overgeared auto].

Either way I hope it works to your satisfaction- and 10 inch ET58 is close to perfection on an S4 with no spacers

Regards

Fred

It was basically free rubber, I will move down closer the 25" diameter.
