Transmission rebuild

I was going to order one of those transmission kits you got from WorldPac, just to look at, to compare to the German stuff I use.
However, the "PRC" after the part number scared me. I've had a bunch of these things apart that had Chinese clutches and bands installed, which failed in very few miles.
Before I order one, is there any indication, inside that box, that the "PRC" does not stand for People's Republic of China?

I've gotten the bulk of the work done. The drive shafts and clutches are in the case and the Valve body is back on. I'm waiting for 2 more seals and then I should be getting ready to install the unit back in the car.

Just about done with the rebuild and the last two flex plate bolts broke off in the torque converter body. Gotta drop it off and have those bolts removed.

Last time I checked, those torque converter bolts were hard to come by (I had to get a couple of used ones last time I needed them).
The torque for those small bolts is only around 35 ft/lbs if I recall. I used a dab of Loctite on all six of them after I had two rattle loose and get chewed up inside the torque converter housing......

Wow. Those are special hardened bolts. Never seen anyone break one. Either they are not the correct bolt or someone attacked them with an impact....

I am going to get some grade 8 bolts to replace those. For now I put some other bolts in to get me together. I had a machine shop remove the broken bolts. When the torque converter was rebuilt they painted the body and I forgot to chase the threads first. All fixed and the Trans is in the car. The suspension goes back in tomorrow.

I know the length is super critical. If they are a little to long, they will bottom out on the torque converter, and you will think they are tight to the flex plate, but they won't be. And that's not good.

Correct. They are M8 1.25 pitch and really short. I took one and matched it up. They are cap screws and are grade 8. Really short. Might have to get them from Porsche.

Like waaaaayyy out of calibration. IIRC those bolts only get 33 ft/lbs. I hope that steel channel wasn't against the pan when lifting the trans into position. It can easily deform to the point of completely blocking fluid pickup by the filter.
