Default Update..928 Estate at Sebring Lemons!!! 4th place!!!!

Quick update on my best racer ever.....the 928 Estate....is racing at Sebring as we speak....ended yesterday in 2nd place and currently is only 1 min back of leader in 2nd place!!

Old girl still has it!!! I am confident "Come Monday Motorsports" can pull off a victory in my old girl!!!! Bummed I could swing driving for them this time

To get everyone in the spirit here is a video from last Sept when I drove for them in South Carolina.... We got as high as 5th there, but drama ensued...

Son of a bitch! I was rutting for the old bucket. I love that car! Most fun I've ever had driving a race car.
Even with the blown engine I believe that's the highest place finish for the Estate.

How many hours on this engine.?

Well here is the official story...car was great.....then about 2 hours to finish alternator dies.....then battery...right about time they take the lead.....quickly put in tow rigs battery....and best driver......car is slowly dying....can't run at higher RPM.....keeps getting worse and worse....then BLAMMO....blew the engine...classic 2-6 rod bearing failure from knocks pounding it out, loss of pressure....BOOM

Here is a nice write up on Car and Driver

I built my "stock" replacement crankshafts with Chevy sized rod journals and matching connecting rods to eliminate the "soft rod bearing failure" issues.

Virtually a "must have" for anything that is ever going to see the track.

Of course, if the owners of a vehicle have a garage full of stock engines and don't mind replacing them whenever one blows up, it is always cheaper to go that route.....custom cranks and custom rods are relatively expensive....and designed for the people that are tired of exploding engines.
