BTW, more info on entering Canada: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...f5082-eng.html
For those travelling with FRS radios etc..
U.S. residents are allowed to operate aircraft, marine, amateur, citizens' band (CB), General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) and Family Radio Service (FRS) radios as well as cellular and PCS (personal communications service) mobile radio telephones in Canada without explicit permission from Industry Canada. If you are not a U.S. resident, you will need permission from Industry Canada to use this equipment. For more information, contact Industry Canada by e-mail at spectrum_pubs@ic.gc.ca or visit their Web site at www.ic.gc.ca.

After looking at the Canadian Immigration and Visitors website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcome...goods-what.asp
I saw this one remark: Vehicles brought into Canada for personal use are duty free. Some restrictions may apply. Cars must meet Canadian safety and pollution control standards.
I'm only assuming that if you are not running cats, you might not be let into the country. Just an FYI for anyone planning on attending that might be in this situation.

Wow you guys are going to enjoy driving through those roads.
There are some real interesting spots where you can stretch the car out and some areas where 100mph curves are the limit.
The Delta lodge is a great hotel with lots of amenities for the wives that want to hang back and enjoy the spa and gossip with the other wives. Lots to do.
I really look forward to seeing you all and for this to be a very successful event.
If you need Colin or Roger or someone else to bring you parts make sure to make arrangements far enough ahead.

This looks truly tempting!
I drove my 928 GT nicknamed "DELETE" (hint) into Canada from Michigan three times last summer/fall without any border check of the car at all. The Canadians are remarkably friendly and I had no issues traveling in either direction.
The speed limit was 100kph and moderately enforced. Roads not uniformly marked, so pay attention! I was in Ontario and Quebec so I'm not sure what it is like traveling the open spaces to the west (methinks substantially faster?)
Would not mind forming up with a convoy from the east or midwest to travel with…
Will stay posted.

For those who are ready to book your room we are now pleased to add a link for the hotel.
Folks who are travelling from quite far may want to take advantage of the extended room offer we negotiated for days prior/post to Sharks On Ice and explore this absolute gorgeous part of the world:

I'm in as long as I'm not racing that weekend.
Bring your radar detectors! They're legal here.
Malcolm let me know if you think there might be some interest in a track day at the newly opened Castrol Race Way Road course. I could arrange it if there was enough interest.
