Hi Thomy,
My bracket needs a 2xDIN chassis cage to mount the stereo unit, and has breakout tabs for various heights of cages. I don't have a solution for the louver lever - yet! I need to get that done to complete the design for both old and new style center vent microswitches. PM'd you.

Hi Al,

I will have a look on that louver lever when I'm doing the conversion .
Maybe I can make one out of two . Or sth. else...shouldn't be a big problem as I'm working as modeler

There has been some progress on the 2X DIN kits recently! I finally got some time to design a new lever for the center vent that works with the old style louver, but in the new flush location. At the moment, only the newer style consoles have a solution, next up is the older lever style (curved cam pressing on the switch tang). The first 3D printed samples arrived today, and they fit great, but I do need to reshape the exposed end just a little to be more centered in the louver slot for it's range of travel, but expect the next parts to be spot on. I also designed a replacement slotted arm in case yours is broken. This is the arm that is rivetted to the vent flap. Mine is about 10% thicker all through. The next one of these I'll order in polished white to see how smooth it is - the black is not offered in polished, and the surface is not smooth for a sliding motion.
The second item is I am waiting for my first sample of a custom stereo trim ring, sized to cover any gaps from stereo nose to steel cutout, but not extend past my bracket edge. It is a tapered section to transition to the stereo face height more smoothly than a flat panel. Also has provisions underneath to allow easy trimming to fit larger stereo faces, up to +1.5mm all around. And, by suggestion, it will have "PORSCHE" in the proper font in the lower face. Should be here end of the week. If this works out, it will be an option to be added to the kits.

NOW you get a lever extension...... :-) only issue i had other than the lever was the angle of the vents. the build it stops keep it from moving down farther... I'm sure i can mod it some how..

How is your 2X DIN kit coming along?
Are your kits available for purchase? (Sorry if this is a stupid question.)
I am considering installing a Alpine iLX-107 unit in my 928. I assume, this kit would be a good way to go.
Thanks.

Thought I’d refresh this post a bit...

Finally got mine installed. I have not put the vents in yet, as I am having some damper issues, and might need to pull it all out. Needless to say I love this kit, and want to Shout out a Big THANK YOU to Al for making these for us!

I don’t believe Al is making them any longer.
