Default ENDED 8/31/2012- Charity Auction for Andre Hedrick's family-

EDIT- 9/3/2012- AUCTION ENDED 8/31/2012

Thanks everyone for your generous contributions. If you have won an item and haven't heard from me please send me a PM, I may have sent the notice to someone else in error. If you aren't sure, feel free to PM me anyway. If you have listed an item and it was bid on but you haven't gotten notification of the payment please let me know. There are still some people I sent PMs to but haven't been able to correlate a payment to the item, so I'm going to go back in and try to recontact those people in a few days. Some people don't stop by here everyday and it was a holiday weekend so I expect we'll hear from the rest of the winning bidders in the next few days.

Thank you everyone for making this a huge success!!!

EDIT: 8/27/2012---****
HEY EVERYONE- I'm having a heck of a time tracking down and collating everyone's information. As of right now, there's over $1600 in the paypal account that is all earmarked for the Hedrick family (!). Over the next few hours I'm going to be doing my best to forward address information from the people who paid to the people and vendors who donated items and shipping costs for this auction. Unfortunately there are a few people who paid but didn't give an address. For some there is just an amount and your real name and if I don't know you personally then I don't know which Rennlist 'handle' that equates to.

In the 'green light' PM that I send to the lister, I will cc: the winning bidder, so the two of you can work out the details of the balance of the transaction without me in the middle if that's OK. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have made a payment and don't get a PM by the end of today putting you in touch with the lister of the item(s) you paid for, it's because I can't figure out who you are on Rennlist. Please send me a PM with the name that would have shown up as the Paypal payer and I will put you in touch with the lister.

(NOTE: particularly if your name is Jeff. I got two payments from people named Jeff for whom I have no further information except the payment amount)

***************END of 8/27/2012 EDIT*****

I'd like to hold a charity auction over the next few weeks to raise some money for the fund that has been set up for Andre's family.

Here is the way we decided to set it up. It's admittedly not perfect, but it should work if we all have a little patience and remember the reason behind the auction. Andre believed in the theory of 'paying it forward'. Let's see how well we can honor this idea for his family.

Setup:
I'll moderate this thread and update the first post with the list of all of the things being auctioned, the current bid and the leading bidder. Once we close the auction, I'll keep this thread open and keep in contact with the bidders and sellers to let everyone know when things are paid for and when they're received. Once the transaction is complete, I'll release the funds to the Hedrick family Paypal account from mine.

Seller agrees to pay for shipping or delivery, buyer pays the winning bid at the end of the auction to my paypal account. Listed items should be 928 related (not sure if the mods would allow it otherwise, but maybe one of them can chime in here, we might generate more funds if we don't limit it that way, I don't know). It could be goods or services (maybe someone donates a free oil change or TB tension check or something.)

I'll accept bids through this thread or PM and update this post.

Let's be generous folks. I know many of you have already donated money to the fund, others may prefer to do things this way.

.......
EDIT:*****8/8/2012***** Someone asked about when the items will 'close'. I think two weeks after the first bid is offered on each item is fair, so I'll edit each line and list when each item will end so that bidders won't have to check back endlessly and those items won't be left open for too long. I'll just leave the items that haven't been bid on open for a while. So if an item is listed with a bid, it will close two weeks after the first bid was received.****** AND THANK YOU ALL*****

EDIT: *** 8/22/2012*** Items that were initially bid prior to 8/9/2012 closed yesterday or will close today (and are noted as ending 8/23/2012). If you are the winning bidder of one of these items, I will send you a PM by tomorrow morning for all items marked as closing 8/22 and 8/23. As other items close I'll send out PMs with requests for payments and your address. THANK YOU ALL. This auction will stay open until 8/31/2012 for items that have no closing date listed and then I'll close and contact all winning bidders.

Note- only highest bid is listed, on some of these I did get more than one bid via PM, all bidders will get a reply telling them whether or not they are the high bidder.

Current Auction total bids: $3700. !!!! let's keep it going....
EDIT: 8/24/2012- I just put everything into a spreadsheet this morning to track it now that things are closing and updated the current total auction bids. I was off by a bit. I think I got it right now though. I will be publishing the final totals with amounts, winning bidders and the final amount sent to the family Paypal account when all is said and done. My paypal account was empty before this started, so the books will be easy to reconcile, it will all go to them.

Since Andre had a brown metallic early 928, I will donate one AutoArt 928 1:24 scale in brown metallic, including shipping in the US. The minimum bid should be $120.

Plus, I will donate one AutoArt 928 in 1:43 scale - If you win bidding on this item, you can pick the color white or minerva blue. The minimum bid should be $45.

Mike Frye will collect the bids and announce the winning bid.

I will donate the CO adjusting tool for the OB's. This is the loooong allen wrench with a handle on one end and looks about 24" long. It is like new condition. Just let me know where to send it. My thanks also to Roger, Nicole and all the other of you guys running this. We have so much ugliness/sickness running through our family these days I barely have time to keep up with the list.

While I am at it, I will also donate the flywheel lock for the OB also in like new condition.

Thanks again to all of you,

Thanks Frank, much appreciated.

I found the other thing I wanted to list. It's a 'CF look' dash bezel from Speedhut (no affiliation)

I won it as a door prize at one of our Sharks at the Beach GTGs but it really doesn't go with my interior. Any bids?
