For those who have a 'decent' original - I advise you to get one of these and preserve yours on a shelf - especially if it's a '78-79 'chipboard' one - they are fragile as can be and irreplaceable and irreparable when damaged. I've bought them for my early cars and they provide peace of mind and work very well. Great product.

Hi again Jerry. I bought rear insulation pads from Robert Budd some time ago for rear hatch area. Does this insulation get stuck to underneath of your spare tire covers or laid on top? Original porsche polycarbonate cover had insulation stuck to underneath. Regards,John
OK Jerry. Don't know any other 928 owners so going to have to bite the bullet on the international postage.
Not as long a package as cowl cover so maybe cheaper !!!
Sending you a pm.

Hi John. The package is too large to send by regular mail so I have to use Priority Mail. The one suggestion I have is to get as many of your Irish and UK 928 guys together and set up a group buy. I did this a couple of years ago with the guys in AU and I ended up sending them about 42 Covers in three or four different packages and the postage was about $18 to $22 each when divided up. I guess that means I could send 10 or 12 to you for $25 each and probably less. If you have some interest and maybe have an internet network of the 928 guys around there, and if I can send them to a central address, I think it could work.

Received my cover today. Many thanks Jerry. Really fast international delivery. Superb quality and far superior to the original Porsche spare tyre cover.

Thanks, John, for the report and the nice feedback. I too am surprised at how quickly it got there to you in Ireland. I'll bet knowing the postman might have helped.

I should say "always." However I usually end up making them to order. I have one formed in the forms and ready to trim out and finish, and then it takes me about an hour to make another one. I could probably ship you 4 or 5 by Tuesday when the post office is open.

Just a reminder, because I think I addressed it earlier in this thread, but the Spare Tire Cover for th 78 and 79 928 is slightly different from the later ones. In those early cars the latch or swivel catch that holds them down is on the cover whereas on the 80 (I think) and later cars, it is on the car. It take a little extra effort to fabricate and install the catch, so I charge $95 for the Cover for the earlier cars. Please let me know when you inquire about the Cover if it is for the 78 or 79.

Jerry,
I would like to get one of the spare tire covers for my 1978 OB. I will send you an email. Also, I have been looking to no avail to find one of these small plastic covers that fits over the fuel pump in the rear right fender well (photo courtesy of SharkSkin). Do you make these?

Good-o on the Spare Cover. I'll work one up for you. As to the other cover, I suggest you make it yourself. Go to Harbor Freight and buy yourself a heat gun. On sale they are usually about $9.99. I'll send you some plastic with your Spare Cover and you can work up some wood forms out of scrap lumber and form this yourself. If you don't have any scrap lumber go to some building sight and look around. Ask them if you can have some of their scraps. Form your two angles in lumber and heat the plastic only along the bends and bend it over the form.
For the Spare Cover you can paypal the total of $115 (95 plus 20) to me at:
