No Windshield Washer operation
85 euro
I am about to take a trip and my Windshield Washers are not working. Since I am alone and can't hold the switch and check for voltage on the pump anyone know the fuse or relay that controls this. All other operations are fine and the intensive washer has never worked.
Thanks

You can pull the pump out and check it with a 12V battery. The main WW pump is located on the passenger side behind the wheel well. You can see the 3 rubber nubbs that hold the pump on through the wheel well if you take off the plastic well liner. It's pretty easy to get out. Very hard to put back. I'm pretty sure no fuse or relay for this pump.
If you don't take out the pump, even by yourself you should be able to hear if the pump is trying to run. Put your windshield wipers in the up position, so they are not against the windshield. That will eliminate some noise.
You can also take out the intensive pump from the from the front. It's below the intensive pump reservoir. It's easy to take out and put back in. They are both the same part #s so they are interchangable. The intesive pump has a relay (IX) but not fuse.
You might be able to take either of the pumps apart and clean the gears if needed. That's pretty simple. But, the little motor may be to far gone, so even if the gears are clean and move freely it still may not work.
Like said above make, sure the lines and nozzles are clear. Put a small pin in the nozzles to make sure there is no clogs there.
Also make sure your check valves (one direction valves) on the lines work. They are important to have and work.
Lastly, (I think this is my problem) your column switch may be bad. Sometimes my regular pump works. Sometimes it doesn't. I know it's good because it works with the 12V test.
FYI. The head light washer pump uses fluid from the regular WW pump reservoir. The regular WW reservoir in located behind the pass. side well liner and the head light washer pump is located below that reservoir.
Do a search on "windshield washers". You'll get a lot of great information that way. Good luck and report back.

I have voltage to D 1.3 when I pull the switch, I'm sure it's a bad pump. I cleaned it a few months ago, I should of replaced it then.
I'm not about to take it out before my trip tomorrow so I may use Porkens suggestion.
