this fuel line just will not come free from the filter, got "out" side off of the filter but not the in. thinking i will just pull the filter and the 6 inch fuel line since i stripped it so bad and its just worn out.

I Dremeled the clamping sleeves off the old fittings, replaced the rubber section with new high-pressure fuel hose, and clamped it back on with Oetiker hose clamps (more secure than worm gear-style clamps). The fittings are just basically standard barbed male ends, but you have to be careful not to nick them with the Dremel while you're removing the sleeves.

It's worked just fine for me for close to two years now. I did the same with all the fuel hoses under the hood as well. No issues, and all new rubber gives me some peace of mind.

my only problem is the fuel filter side of this part, the soft thin bolt part is pretty badly stripping. are you saying that this is possible to DIY and replace?

thanks a bunch - i enjoy working on this stuff, but kind of a low level self taught home mechanic so I am slow on the uptake on some explanations. love trying, and the car is awesome.

If Porsche says the part is NLA, I can suggest two sources. Len Cummings of Autosport Engineering in Stow, MA has been making OE quality Porsche fuel lines, etc. for some years, 978-562-7300 or 800-356-914-6.

Griffiths makes a fuel return hose for the 924/944 series cars that's been NLA for some time, and if other hoses are dropping out of production, perhaps they'll make them as well: 800-451-7225

good call about Len. going to potentially refurb as much as possible with his help.

couple questions.

- will be pulling some more parts to measure and photograph for len. will also probably pull injectors and do the clean with Witchhunter. as far as going dormant for a couple weeks in my driveway, should i be plugging up all the holes to avoid fire hazards? i forgot to close the window, if i have the fuel filter off, is it dangerous to plug in the battery and turn key halfway just to roll up window?

-924S specific - does anyone have any tips what I should be asking len about making for engine compartment hoses? I would love all fresh hoses - and i know 88Silver924S was talking about making some of his own. I am assuming what I would be replacing would be the lines that start in the engine compartment near the side of the windshield wiper? any tips on how to make that connection between the hard lines that go under the car and the new rubber lines that run over the manifold to the fuel rail? I like the idea of having these hoses professionally made. If i had 3 cars, maybe i could talk myself into learning to make these but in this case, i like having a pro make me the hoses.

I'm going to take lots of photos and measurements. maybe mail some old parts to len. just curious mainly how dangerous this is in its current opened up state left outside in the driveway, and how i can best work with len on my car. thanks a bunch, very much appreciated.
