Yes H4 is a huge improvement over the sealed beams, and the E-code lenses are a HUGE step over those.
Best of all is E-code H4 conversion, with an added headlight relay harness driven by the alternator.

They are a massive improvement, i would personally recommend the Cibie H4's vs the the Hellas as i like the beam on the Cibies a bit better, the spread between the low/high beam is a little tighter on the cibies as well. If you go for higher wattage bulbs, you really need a relay harness which is available from rennbay.

Definitely do the harness regardless of what you decide on with the lenses. I put on the Hella H4 DOT lenses and while the beam pattern was better, they really weren't good enough to have any confidence at night. I added a relay harness recently and that made a HUGE difference in output.

Buy this
1. Connect power wire to positive battery terminal
2. Plug right headlight socket onto harness input plug
3. Plug harness sockets onto headlights
4. Find a spot to attach harness grounds near each headlight (plenty of nearby bolts to choose from)
5. Zip tie everything in place
Took me about an hour. It is much easier to just remove the headlight covers for number 3. There are higher quality harnesses out there, but the nice thing is that if the harness fails, you just have to unplug the harness and plug the oem sockets back onto the bulbs.
