My 86 944 turbo is at about $40k (inflation is not calculated, so it's a lot higher in reality). Luckily the vast majority of that is by the PO. About half is labor!! Who knows what, if any, receipts are missing.

I put all of my car's records in an excel spreadsheet so I can look up the numbers/facts easily. I would definitely recommend it.

I threw away all my receipts. I don't want to know. Ever. I have a hard enough time trying to forget.

I keep and organize all my receipts for my NA for resale purposes only, as I also keep a digital log of every nut I turn on the car for my own purposes.

But on the 951

I don't ever want to know how much money I've put into that car and I'll never sell it anyway, so I only keep a personal log for that car; no receipts. If I do ever sell it, it won't be worth 1/15th of what I've probably got in it since its a stripped out mostly-track car that is in a perpetual state of being unfinished.

Looking at your breakdown, I think I spent quite a bit more on 944 stuff even though I am constantly hypnotizing myself (and others) I only spent about 10 grand. It adds up quickly over the years.

It does soon add up............and when your changing or upgrading parts there's always a fair chunk of the cost to install them, have them shipped, tax included and generally parts are not and have never been cheap for a Porsche...

Which is why I kinda think for the spec I've not done too bad at all...

The last scope creep I had on my project about 2 years ago when I decided to go 3.0 (block, crank, pistons etc) and the 16v + efr addendums with all the electronics cost me about 30k€ counting in all the taxes, shippings, duties and trips.
