Will S2 exhaust fit 944n/a?
I am wondering if an S2 catback will bolt up to my 86 944n/a? Anyone tried this? I am wondering if the bends and hangers are the same? I am confused because I read a thread of someone using a Dansk n/a cat back that bolted up to an S2, yet they are advertised for different year cars. I was thinking of running an oem S2 unit with a high flow cat on my n/a for something close to stock without rasp or drone.

I don't think it will, the flange is rotated vs the NA. Such was the case when i went to mount the 924S muffler i had to the 944S, it had to be cut and rotated on the muffler to work.

It wont fit , the 8v has a 3 bolt flange and the s2 has a 4 bolt flange , hangers are the same i think but even if there not you can move them on the torque tube.
I'm in the process of modifiing a full 968 exhaust including headers to fit my 8v na. I'ts a work of art for a stock exhaust and all stainless . I'm having new flanges welded on the headers to fit on the 8v head and a flexi joint before the cat ,also a magnaflow muffler because the 968 one wont fit.
I have a straight pipe now with magnaflow muffler and it's way too loud ,it's tiresome ,also it broke 4 times till now because the car is low and it hits from time to time.
You could cut and weld the 3 bolt flange to the catback .

I thought the S exhaust had a triangular flange? I agree the 968 exhaust sounds awesome but I'm also working on lightening the load. So the 968 muffler won't fit? I'm still trying to figure out if the bends are the same on the catback between the n/a and an S. I thought they would be the same for the 968 also.

Yes all the bends are exactly the same , the path is the same .
First you said S2 now you say S , it's not the same thing , the S has the 3 bolt flange like the 8v and the S2 has the 4 bolt flange like the turbo.
Actually the 968 muffler does fit just that it has the offset tip and it's also very bulky so i'm changing it all together.

The S2 has a 3 hole flange, not a 4.
Cat backs that I've seen for sale over the years seem to list all normally aspirated 944s as being the same, for example:

I know this is an old thread, but never mind.
Yes, a 944 S2 exhaust will fit a 944 I. I did it today. The pictures speak for themselves.
944 S2 vs. 944 I exhaust comparison
flanges are basically the same
it fits
S2 exhaust missed the support hangers as you can see above, so I moved it from the old exhaust to the S2 exhaust
It fits.
