Default Tire and wheel package for street/track 86 944 NA

Hey, I'm somewhat confused with all the info on tire and wheel options for the 944 from what I've found on here and pelican. But i'm looking to see what my options are for the best tires and wheels on my 944 for track and street, i have the 15" phone dials and tire options on tire rack and at my local dealer are a bit slim, so what's everyones opinion on the best wheel/tire size and tire models for the 944? this is a second car so dealing with snow and rain is not too much of a factor.

If you're keeping the 15" dials, I'd put 195/65's on a 6" rim [not sure if early-offset 15" dials were even offered in a 6"] and 215/60's on a 7" rim.

In my opinion, best bang/buck street-track wheel package (For an N/A car only!) would be RE-11's in 245/45/16 out back and 225/50/16 in front on staggered 8"/7" wheels.

My recommendation is to go with 225/50R15 for 15 x 7 wheels. There are some good choices out there. I personally have had good experience with BFG gForce Sport Comp 2s. Decent (not great) treadwear and decent (not great) grip for occasional track use. The price is reasonable and they are a good compromise for daily use.

For street tires that can be used at the track, I'd looks at the Falken Azenis; BFG Rivals; and Dunlop Direzza Star Spec.

Ok thanks for the help guys, now here's my next question, where's the best place to buy said tires and wheels? outside of craigslist i've looked into the dealership i work at which orders through tire rack and offers hardly a discount on tires for employees. Phils Tire Service seems like an option but they'd have to ship from new york to STL MO where i live.
